Digital Trends and Teslarati have reported that Tesla has received permission to build its plans to bring a retro diner and move-in theater in Los Angeles, with it centering on a Supercharger station for EV users to charge.

This was based on the iconic tweet of Elon Musk from 2021 where he claimed that the Santa Monica Supercharger would get an upgrade, and it would bring a 50s-style drive-in theater along with it. Back then, there was a problem of congestion at the said Supercharger station, but having the retro destination may even bring more traffic as people get in line for this experience.

The retro Supercharger station will feature 32 stalls for EVs to charge in, and while waiting, the customers may have a chance to watch a movie or eat what it has to offer.

Back to the 50s: Neon Lights, Drive-in Theater and More

The Tesla retro Supercharger would be complete with all the nostalgic experiences from the 1950s, featuring the neon lights and curved designs, alongside the drive-in theater where a massive screen will play the films.

Additionally, there would be a diner that would be responsible for the food offered by the station, replicating the good old days.

Tesla's Massive Plans from Elon Musk

In terms of electric vehicles, Tesla is still the top name in the industry amidst all the chaos and controversies it is facing now, with the company making history by trumping car brand giants that have been operating for a long time. Recently, Musk's Tesla has taken the number 1 spot as the top luxury car brand in the United States, a position that BMW has held for years.

Tesla and Musk have successfully established the NACS charging port to be America's standard for electric vehicle charging, putting the Supercharger at the top of all stations in the country.

However, there is still the plan from 2021 where he revealed that the Santa Monica Supercharger will be a 50s retro-style station, complete with a drive-in theater.

Now, there are reports that the EV company has successfully obtained its license for its plans to build the Tesla retro Supercharger that will bring the nostalgic and the 1950s back into existence. The good thing is that this retro drive-in theater would center on clean energy distribution and use, with the company yet to announce the official confirmation of its site and plans.
