Just a few decades ago, a single MB of memory was so expensive, especially during the era of floppy disks. But now, you can simply purchase a 1 TB NVMe solid-state drive (SSD), which is faster than the traditional hard disks.
WD Black 1TB SSD for PC, PS5, and Other Devices Spotted On Sale
According to Game Spot, the WD Black 1 TB SSD can now be used for PC, PS5, and other devices, and its price dropped to its lowest ever. The memory stick can be spotted on Amazon at a more than 50% discount.
The Amazon listing shows that the memory stick's price has dropped from its initial $160 listing to just $55. However, to get the NVMe SSD at this price, buyers would need to click the coupon box on the listing.
Memory Stick With Speeds Capable of Up to 7,300 MBps Spotted Selling With a Big Discount
It was reported that the SN850X was one of the best NVMe SSDs for the PS5 due to its compatibility, quality, and the fact that it provided faster speeds with its NVMe technology. As of press time, the SSD has become even more attractive as its price significantly dropped.
The product was listed on Amazon as WD BLACK 1TB SN850X NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive. Its listing also revealed that this piece of tech was a Gen4 PCIe, M.2 2280 storage that offers speeds of up to 7,300 MBps.
Even Without a Coupon, the SSD Is Already Selling With a Massive Discount Compared to Its Original Listing
Even without the coupon, the listing shows that the SSD's price has dropped significantly. After a 56% discount, the price drops from $159.99 to just $69.82. It only applies to the 1TB option, but buyers can also buy the 2 TB and 4 TB versions if they need bigger storage.
Twitter user Wario64 also posted the Amazon listing, and some users commented on how they paid about three times the price for the same SSD just a year ago. Should this be true, it shows how far the prices have dropped and how big the discount of the SSD is compared to its original price.
NVMe Performance Better Compared to SATA and HDD Storage
Other users in the thread also revealed how they liked the SSD, saying it was fast, mainly because it's an NVMe SSD, which is much faster than a SATA SSD and even faster than conventional HDD storage.
However, it was reported that the SN850X doesn't come with an individual heatsink, meaning users would still need to purchase one separately should they plan to use the memory stick.
However, the good thing is that the heatsinks are not that expensive, and when it comes to value, even without the heatsink, the SSD still provides one of the most worthwhile upgrades in the market.
