Microsoft and Xbox are now taking this opportunity to bring new updates for its Community Standards, one that centers on a new suspension policy for all gamers in the multiplayer and online platform. Users will only get up to eight strikes before they see a one-year suspension but do not take the initial seven lightly as it comes with different durations of online suspension.
This new policy will help the team manage its online services and multiplayer experiences better, especially as they get to filter out the toxic and harmful individuals that are plaguing the platform.
Xbox: Eight Strikes and You're Out
The latest Community Standards for Xbox has brought an update for all gamers, and this centers on online behavior and its sanctions for those who will continue to violate or harass other players. First and foremost, other gamers or users would not be able to place these strikes, as the Xbox Safety Team would determine if this particular gamer gets one.
This new suspension policy will center on strikes that mark an account regarding the violations they made. However, despite it having eight long strikes, each strike has a corresponding time for one's account to get suspended.
The first sanction lies with two strikes, giving gamers a day of suspension to face. Next is four strikes which impose a one-week suspension for the said account. Lastly, completing eight strikes would subject the said account to a full-year suspension that cannot access multiplayer or online privileges.

Getting these strikes will not go away despite being an outstanding and model gamer in the online experience, but would add when deemed so by Xbox.
Users may keep track of their strikes via the Enforcements page, only needing to log in to their said account.
Xbox and Online Play
Previous studies have revealed that the most toxic gaming community in the world is Microsoft's Xbox, with the platform completing the criteria of different kinds of negativity in the platform. That being said, Microsoft has added different ways to report these players and bring them to the attention of moderators, and be given the rightful sanction upon review.
Speaking of features, Xbox has introduced a way to give users a fighting chance against these abusive gamers, particularly with the capability to report these users who are being toxic in voice chats. This feature was made available to massive aspects of Xbox, with this centering on backwards-compatible games as well.
Gaming is known to invoke intense emotions or reactions from gamers especially when they are deeply invested or rooted to the said title. Frustration and poor performance may lead to rage, which in turn affects other players, especially in multiplayer games.
However, that is not a justification for their bad actions, and with Microsoft and Xbox's new policy, this gets better action that ensures the platform remains a healthy environment.
