The rumored PS5 Slim once again emerged from the darkness following a new post from a leaker. According to the latest leak, the purported console is two inches shorter than the standard PlayStation 5.
If this is true, will it be cheaper than the original one?
PS5 Slim Rumor Hints About its Size
We're done halfway through 2023 and we have not yet seen more details about the next version of the PS5 console. So far, the only thing that we heard is all about the Project Q handheld.
This year, Sony was bombarded by speculations if it will release a new PlayStation 5 model. While several sources claim that the PS5 Pro codename "Project Trinity" is now under development, a new leak hints that it's beyond that.
As Metro reports, the PS5 Slim won't have many upgrades that everyone can expect. Apart from the detachable disc, nothing else might come.
The most obvious feature of the PS5 Slim as BwE claimed is its smaller size than the original gaming machine. For someone who is waiting for a new next-gen console, this rumored version might be a disappointment.
According to BwE, who is a reverse engineering expert, he already saw a PS5 Slim. He also said that there was a video about it, but it's nowhere to be found online.
It's a shame that the leaker was vague to highlight the features of the PS5 Slim. The only striking attribute that everyone can remember is it will allegedly be 5cm shorter, but not thinner than the standard console.

PS5 Slim Feature a Weird Curve
The rumors don't stop about the PS5 Slim's obvious measurement.
"I would say it's about 5 cm or so shorter, not much thinner. Weird curve in the middle with smaller vents. The BD drive is less curved so it looks weird. Has two ugly black slits on each side of the case. Dual USB-C on the front. Stupid embossed ️️️ on the rear," BwE posted on X.
There's a chance that this mere description is also pointing out the USB-C slots resembling attachment points for the disc drive. If this is true, Sony needs to announce it as soon as possible since some leaks also said that it will be launching this year.
In line with this, Tech Times reported last month that the PS5 Slim's release date might fall sometime in September. Another alleged photo of the PS5 (CFI-2016) Slim was seen in Andrew Marmo's post on X.
It's possible that this is just a fake image masked as the upcoming console though Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson previously reported the exact measurements of the PS5 Slim.
According to Push Square, Henderson has a history of correct reports when it comes to PS5-related products. Some of his notable reports include the Project Q streaming device and the PlayStation earbuds.
