TikTok: Disclose Your AI-Generated Content in Just a Click, As Part of its Public Disclosure Policy

AI-generated content is still welcome, but it still needs to be declared.

Social media platforms now regularly see AI-generated content appearing on its feed, and in TikTok, the only thing it wants is for creators to disclose this before posting. Moreover, the company is now making it easier to do so, with just a click of a button, they can let the app and its moderators know that it contains AI content.

AI's presence in the social media can no longer be erased, but the good thing is that platforms like TikTok will give users a label or notice that this is indeed created by machines.

Social media consultant, Matt Navarra, has shared the latest feature on TikTok that helps creators in properly declaring that the content they are posting was made or generated by AI. This will center on content that has had help from AI generators of different companies before they go for posting on social media.

There is a button slider that users may click, and this would help relay to the app and its moderators that it was made or contains elements generated by AI.

Apart from declaring AI-generated content on their videos, this new button may help in simplifying the process for content creators in letting TikTok know of their AI creations, as part of its labeling policy it updated last March.

TikTok's AI Content Policy and Guidelines

As per TikTok's "Synthetic Media" policy found in its Community Guidelines, AI content is not prohibited on the platform, provided that users disclose that it was made with such tech. Still, it does not promote the posting of deep fake videos and content, especially if it has ties to real-world personalities made to mislead the public.

TikTok's Social Media Platform

Did you know that AI is already a massive influencer on social media? And no, this is not what you think of that centers on accounts that post AI content. These AI Influencers are the people behind the account themselves, and they are taking over social media platforms like TikTok where the entire personality is made by a computer, promoting and collaborating with known brands.

Apart from AI influencers and people posting about machine-generated content, TikTok is also behind one of the most impressive and mysterious artificial intelligence the world has seen. This centers on the platform's algorithm known for being AI-driven, with many businesses struggling to build their brand on social media.

TikTok is not afraid of the AIs that are rampant in the online world now, especially with its algorithm that centers on ranking videos and arranging them using machine-learning tech. However, posts that contain AI-generated content need to be properly labeled, with the company adding a button to click to declare it, for the public to be aware.
