While modern consoles often provide players with next-generation video gaming experiences, some gamers prefer classic ones. The big problem is that although playing classic consoles is fun, some people need help with using older controllers.
Problem With Previous Consoles Includes the Need for Users to Use Wireless Controllers
One of the most convenient features of modern consoles is that users won't have to worry about tripping over the controller, especially since the contemporary versions are wireless.
There could have been many games that were abruptly stopped due to users accidentally tripping over the wire of the older console. Aside from having specific hardware that is difficult to look for, retro gamers still need to use plug-in controllers, just like during the early 2000s.
The 8BitDo Retro Receiver Dongle Allows Gamers to Apply Wireless Capabilities to Their Gaming Experience
The 8BitDo Retro Receiver provides gamers with a wireless option to enjoy playing the PS1 and PS2 with a modern controller. It was then reported that the idea behind the controller was simple and would allow users to use modern wireless controllers through the dongle.
According to Game Spot, the dongle would then be inserted into the PS1 and PS2 consoles, making it easy for users to utilize their old gaming devices. Adding the device means users can quickly dust off their original PlayStation or PS2, insert the dongle, and use a more modern controller.
The Dongle Would Fit in the PlayStation Memory Card and Is Compatible With Multiple Different Types of Controllers
The dongle was reported to fit just like a PlayStation memory card and can also be used with multiple contemporary controllers. 8BitDo further noted that the dongle supported the PS5 DualSense, as well as the DualShock PS4 controllers.
For those who want to be completely experimental, it was noted that players would also be able to use the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and even other controllers like the Wii U Pro or even the Switch Pro controller.

The Dongle Would Also Work on the PC and Is Compatible With the V3 Arcade Stick
It was also reported that the compatibility is already available for all 8BitDo's controllers and can be used with their very own V3 arcade stick. However, it was also highlighted that the Xbox version won't work with the dongle.
Additionally, the dongle reportedly also works on the PC, making it easy for users to connect their wireless controllers. The company has also launched different products in the previous months.
So far, the company is working on a mechanical keyboard expected to be released soon. The Famicom and the NES era inspire the keyboard, and comes as part of the two large programmable buttons.
This keyboard also comes with two big, programmable buttons. The 8BitDo Retro Receiver is currently on sale for $25 each.
