Baldue's Gate III is expected to launch soon and as gamers are getting ready for the release of the new title, tests have already been run to see which GPUs can handle the game best. As seen in the results, the best GPU for the title is an Intel GPU, instead of AMD and NVIDIA.
Baldur's Gate III and How it Functions with Different GPUs Like Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA
According to the story by Hot Hardware, the upcoming Baldur's Gate III has reportedly exited what was described as a "lengthy early access period" and it was recently found that it runs very well on AMD and NVIDIA graphics card.
Despite it running well, neither company decided to release a graphics driver for the 1.0 release of the game. The article then notes that since there weren't any specific complaints regarding the Arc Alchemist Intel GPUs.
It was noted that they expect the game to run better with the new Intel Arc & Iris Xe Graphics BETA driver which was recently released specifically for the title. However, it was highlighted that the release was unusual since oftentimes, Intel graphics driver packages often come as full releases even including WHQL certification.
Intel Arc A7 GPUs Expected to Run Baldur's Gate 3 Smoothly
The new driver was noted to be a beta driver that Intel has been able to specifically add the "Game On" support for the title and that was it. It was also noted that the new driver package's release notes don't really mention fixed bugs or any additional optimizations.
The article by Hot Hardware shared that they expected Baldur's Gate 3 to be able to run smoothly with the Arc A7 GPUs, which are reportedly the recommended cards for players to experience smooth gameplay.
The Game was Tried With GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER Radeon RX 5700 XT GPUs
It was noted that the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER as well as the Radeon RX 5700 XT, are still fairly behind the Intel Arc A750 as well as the A770 GPUs. This was especially true since Intel comes with optimized drivers.
The article noted that the 16 GB model of the Intel Arc A770 for players to be able to stretch their legs when it comes to some of the environments present in the Baldur's Gate 3 title. It was noted that the game's environments weren't just large but were also very detailed.
Other Known Additions from the Intel Release Notes
The title reportedly comes with character milling and although Hot Hardware notes that they haven't tried the game out yet, they wouldn't be surprised that it's possible to use an overspilled 8GB of video RAM to get high resolutions.
It was noted that although there aren't any fixed bugs or optimizations mentioned in Intel's release notes, there was still the usual litany of different issues. However, the only listed issues related to certain PC games involve when players run the Shadow of the Tomb Raider in DirectX mode.
