The Fitbit app is getting a redesign, and it's now going for a more minimalistic aesthetic as it tries to match the Google Pixel Watch 2 watchface. This comes as the company is going for a cleaner look by focusing its display on the essentials.
Google Fitbit New Redesign Seems to Aims to Match that of the Leaked Google Pixel Watch 2
According to the story by The Verge, this comes as Fitbit is dropping down the number of tabs to just three as it tries to accomplish a more aesthetic look. This could be seen as a move to match the leaked watchface of the Google Pixel Watch 2.
The article notes that Fitbit has gone through many changes over the past years, and as of press time, the changes are still expected to continue. This comes as the app, which Google owns, will get a complete redesign soon. 9to5Google showed the leaked watchface, displaying how it focuses on minimalism.
The redesign would involve certain Fitbit users invited to try out the beta version. This invitation was just recently launched, but it will only be for the beta version, as the full version is expected to come later.
Users Would Get Three Tabs Including the Today, Coach, and You
For a start, it was noted that Fitbit would be reorganizing how data will be presented to users as, in the future, the app would divide its interface into just three tabs. The three tabs will reportedly be Today, Coach, and the last one would be You.
The Today tab will stay the same compared to the version available as of press time. However, the primary metrics users see at the top will be customized for users to be able to highlight different areas of focus.
This depends on the user's priorities as they would be able to look at, for example Sleep; they would be able to set Zone Minutes first. If ever the users want to focus on heart health, they can also emphasize the heart, health metrics, and exercise.

Fitbit Users Would Also Get Some Custom Presets for Them to be able to Reach Certain Goals
It was also announced that Fitbit could give some custom presets for specific goals, like saying the new tab will get "more consistent charts" and graphics and icons for users to better visually see their health trends.
As for the Coach tab, this is where most of the content lives, as users can get curated workouts or sessions about mindfulness. Some sessions, like HIIT, would be free, while others would be available for Fitbit Premium subscribers.
Lastly, the You tab would allow custom settings like daily steps, active zone minutes, bedtime, and more metrics. Users can manage community connections, see their achievements, and more through this portion.
