An unexplainable occurrence has taken place on Instagram as the accounts of Pokemon content creators have recently been deleted. So far, no confirmation has been given regarding why this happened.
Pokemon Content Creators have been Banned on Instagram with No Official Reason Given
According to the story by Video Games Chronicle, a lot of content creators for Pokemon that were considered "large" have suddenly been banned on Instagram. The article reports that so far there hasn't been any reason given regarding the ban.
The Pokemon Trading Card Game community were the first to ever highlight the issue, with a lot of different large creators getting a message from Instagram regarding their account being placed on hold. While others had their accounts on hold, there were several creators that announced that they had their accounts permanently banned.
To make the story even more interesting, some of these creators were actually able to get back their accounts. All they had to do was log back in and verify their information but this wasn't applicable to other creators who were permanently banned but were trying to appeal the given decision.
Large Creators have Tried to Reach Out to Meta for an Explanation as to Why They were Banned
PokeRev, a prominent content creator, uploaded a video on YouTube sharing how despite becoming victim to the random bans, he was able to get back his account. Other creators, as reported by Video Games Chronicles, PokiChloe and PokeDean, weren't able to recover their accounts.
The creators were reportedly trying to reach out to Meta, the parent company of Instagram, to ask for an explanation. However, as of press time, it was noted that no reason for the deletion was given to them. According to Game Rant, even some popular YouTubers have mysteriously had their Instagram accounts banned as well.
The article by Video Games Chronicles highlights how there has been speculation regarding how particular hashtags were used in the posts which could've contributed to the ban. It was also noted that another possible reason for the ban would be the links being used by creators in their bios.
Some of the Creators were Even Invited as Guests for Previous The Pokemon World Championships Events
However, it was also noted that the creators were all family-friendly and that a number of them have been banned due to their often promotion of third-party storefronts. It was also noted that a number of accounts that were banned have previously worked with The Pokemon Company.
Some of the creators even worked with The Pokemon Company at events, and have actually been invited as guests in the previous The Pokemon World Championships. This means that the issue could be with TPC instead of an issue with Instagram.
However, this remains to be seen as an official explanation from Instagram or potentially The Pokemon Company regarding why the creators had been banned. So far, creators have continued to reach out to Instagram with requests for an explanation.
