Twitter Blue subscribers are getting another exclusive feature added to their list, as X, formerly Twitter, now allows those who pay to download the videos they come across on the platform. It is another perk for the company's subscription program, adding to its many listed different features it brought in the past for its users.
Before, users head to third-party websites or apps to help them save a video posted on the platform or outright screen record it from Twitter.
Twitter Blue Allows Downloading Videos for Subscribers on X
A recently updated feature for Twitter Blue appeared over at the X Help Center (formerly Twitter Help Center) which details the latest experiences with video streaming on the platform. The guide dictates ways to watch and download videos on the platform, and this is a significant improvement on Twitter as before, it did not allow it.
However, the latest update comes with a catch, as only Verified Users under the subscription would be able to download the videos.
Moreover, there may be certain restrictions set by the creator that posted it, where they can opt to turn off the "Allow to Download" on a per-tweet basis on the platform.
Additionally, verified users under 18 years of age have this feature automatically turned off, and no one, not even subscribers may opt to do so.

No More Third-Party Apps But It is Not Free
According to The Verge, there seem to be no limits on the video downloads on the platform as it allowed 2-hour videos to X, as well as 8GB sizes, to be available online.
This means that users no longer have to copy the tweet's link and bring it over to a third-party service to download it from the platform.
Twitter Blue and the X Platform
Twitter introduced the Blue subscription platform in 2021, and it has been the premium side of social media that is only accessible via a monthly subscription fee. At first, it became a massive deal when Elon Musk took over and enforced the paid verification checkmark for all, charging as much as $11 for mobile subscribers.
Massive promises and features dawned over for Twitter Blue subscribers and it remained as one of the most iconic releases from the company behind its paywall. It offered long-form tweets, the blue checkmark verification, allowing subscribers to post 8 GB videos to the platform, and other premium offers of the subscription.
Twitter's rebrand is still at a crossroads, and it is unsure if this would also change Twitter Blue into a different service, considering that Twitter is no longer blue, but black and white. Still, the new features arrive to Twitter Blue subscribers and they are given the perk to download videos directly from the platform, without the need for third-party services.
