Samsung revealed via its latest release that its Wallet app is now supporting student IDs from various universities in the country, all stored safely in the smartphone. In this integration, Samsung boasts of as many as 68 partner universities where its services would be usable for students, provided that they own a Samsung smartphone.

Included in Samsung's list are Penn State, the University of Florida, Central Michigan University, the University of North Alabama, and the Stevens Institute of Technology.

The South Korean tech company said to contact their specific institutions directly to know more if they are eligible to transfer their credentials on the Samsung Wallet app, especially for those finding difficulties.

To expand more of this offer, Samsung partnered with Transact Campus known for its more than 1,800 partner institutions in the country with its payments and Mobile Credentials solution technologies.

Samsung Wallet only launched last year, but it expanded its services more for its users to enjoy, now extending its support to students who want to use their devices for all credentials access like the school's libraries, gyms, and other areas that require IDs.

Smartphone to Keep Your IDs and Cards? It is Now a Thing

Because of the massive growth of smartphones in the present age, it has been the all-in-one device that could answer every need: from communication, socializing, shopping, and paying for things. This centers on NFC (near-field communication) technology which is also available in the Apple Wallet, known for allowing student IDs, hotel key cards, car key access, and more.

However, there is also the Google Wallet which offers the same thing, keeping a record of one's credit or debit cards and using the device's NFC for completing transactions. Apart from that, Google also allows adding membership cards to the app, offering more access to exclusive offers from companies that only accept its subscribed members.

The massive reliance on smartphones pushed for more technologies and features including keeping everything on one's wallet and pockets available in the devices. Now, Samsung Wallet adds this feature for students to utilize, giving a boost to its fans that enjoy what it offers, using their phones for all credential needs and access.
