When it comes to Apple products, it's not a new thing that they are being taken by other companies and given a luxurious spin. The same thing is happening with the Apple Vision Pro, as a Dubai-based company is wrapping the headset in 18K gold.
The New Apple Vision Pro Caviar Edition Comes as a Luxurious Take on Apple's New Headset
According to the story by GSM Arena, Caviar, a business based in Dubai, is well known for making custom luxury-class devices. With the recent announcement of the Apple Vision Pro, the company has also decided to release a luxury version of the device.
It was noted that the device being customized was the Apple Vision Pro Caviar Edition. This particular device can also be known as the CVR edition, a luxurious take on what was described as Apple's "spatial computer" device.
Caviar reportedly commented on the new luxurious version of the device, saying that the idea behind the CVR Edition was to be able to turn the spatial computer into what they described as a "work of designer art." It was noted that they took inspiration from Tom Ford's flip-up glasses along with the ski masks from Gucci.
The Luxurious Version of the Device Will Come with Over 1.5kg of 18K Gold Being Used
They noted that for the Apple Vision Pro Caviar Edition, they took inspiration from the two other luxury devices to create what they called a "pinnacle of both technology and style." It was noted that the device was decorated with over 1.5kg of 18K gold, as also detailed in an article by 9to5Mac.
Aside from the gold covering the Apple Vision Pro Caviar Edition, it was also noted that the headband was designed from Connolly leather. This was to guarantee a comfortable but still indulgent experience for the owner.
Connolly leather was reportedly also used by the British Royal Court and Rolls-Royce. The article by GSM Arena also notes how those that knew about the Vision Pro also know that they use EyeSight, making the devices feel transparent by showing the user's eyes whenever another person near them is wearing the product.
The Apple Vision Pro CVR Edition Will Use Privacy Mode to Avoid User's Eyes Being Displayed
The addition of the EyeSight feature provides users with visual cues for them to be able to help others or tell them that they user is busy when they're immersed in a certain environment. They can also give users a heads-up if another user uses an app.
So far, Caviar has decided to provide a new privacy option on the CVR Edition. This would allow users to hide their eyes on the external screen. This was due to the company knowing that not everyone would be okay with their eyes displayed on the screen.
While Apple's basic Vision Pro already costs $3,499, the Caviar Version of the VisionPro starts at $39,900. The company will reportedly only make 24 units of the Apple Vision Pro Caviar Edition, as seen further in a video by Caviar Global.
