The TikTok algorithm has been a mysterious component of the platform. Up to this day, even though some influencers and viewers have already figured out how it works, some content creators still struggle to take advantage of it.
In hopes of creating rich content that they think can stand out among other competitors, full-time creators still struggle to attract more viewers in the long run.
TikTok Algorithm Dilemma
According to Bloomberg's Alex Barinka, the rise of TikTok was attributed to its algorithm, which is likely a support system for content creators who are fond of posting clips on the video-sharing app.
While we see success in other people who love to flood their platforms with viral videos, it does not work the same with others.
In fact, the social media space is still spinning within the AI-driven feed. Given that hundreds of videos are flashing randomly on our feed, it's mysterious to think how they appear in the first place.
Barinka wrote in the same report that the TikTok feed is already insatiable and saturated since around 150 million users in the US alone are spending nearly 100 minutes daily on TikTok.
It's interesting to note that various content creators have their own unique content to present to the public. Unfortunately, good content does not necessarily mean that it won't translate to millions of views.
"Any platform that is not built around the persona or the entity is going to have this problem," Sean Atkins, the president of Jellysmack, a creator content distribution firm, said in the previous convention.

TikTok Content Creators Grind to Rise to Fame
As competition intensifies, influencers pull off different gimmicks that can likely lure viewers and fans into looking at their videos.
With social media becoming a magnet of money, some brands give sponsorships to content creators who they think could help in increasing their sales. Again, this is not guaranteed to drive revenues, but it's a great help if they want to advertise their products/services online.
Crafting an eye-catching video for the mass does not only end in a long-editing process. While TikTok pays 3 cents for every one thousand views on a video, it's still not enough, according to the creators.
Furthermore, producing short and impactful videos does not equate to the exposure that creators always desire. It's still unpredictable down the wire. If it becomes viral in a matter of hours or days, then it's good. It does not become popular overnight.
As per Viral Nation's co-founder Joe Gagliese, we will never see some of the clips again because they will "never be able to break through" since 90% of TikTok accounts exist.
The shady algorithm of TikTok sparks controversy among other platforms, including Instagram, which also drives users to see some videos that they are not interested in.
Depending on the TikTok algorithm gaining millions of views is possible, but spending time 24/7 on the platform won't guarantee you results. It will still boil down to creators' strategies to avoid digital burnout.
