DJI Air 3 Price Leak: Fly More Combos, New Controllers Revealed

Leaks reveal pricing details and new controllers for DJI Air 3.

The highly anticipated DJI Air 3, the next addition to the renowned drone manufacturer's lineup, has been generating significant buzz among drone enthusiasts.

Reliable leakers have now shed some light on the pricing details of the drone and its accessory bundles, giving us a glimpse into what we can expect.

While the DJI Air 3 will not redefine the series, it is shaping up to be another powerful mid-range drone with some exciting features.

First DJI Air 3 Price Leak

Quadro_News, a reputable drone tech insider, has recently shared approximate pricing information for the DJI Air 3's accessory bundles, referred to as 'Fly More Combos' by DJI.

These leaks also hint at the release of two new controller options, the RC-N2, and the RC2, with a built-in screen.

According to the leak, the Fly More Combo with the new RC-N2 controller is expected to be priced around €1,127.50 (approximately $1,234 / £969 / AU$1,845).

On the other hand, the Fly More Combo with the RC2 controller will likely cost around €1,294.65 ($1,417 / £1,113 / AU$2,119).

Bogdanov also uploaded a photo of someone believed to be using the new RC-N2 controller outdoors. However, it is impossible to see any discernible distinctions between the RC-N1 and the lone image.

Aside from this pricing leak and rumors concerning second-generation controllers and features, there is very little definite information about the Air 3.

A Closer Look

To better understand these rumored prices, TechRadar notes that it is helpful to compare them to the DJI Air 2S, which the Air 3 is expected to replace.

The DJI Air 2S Fly More Combo with the RC-N1 controller launched with a price tag of US$1,299 / £1,169 / €1,299 / AUS$2,099, slightly higher than the anticipated price of the Air 3's equivalent bundle.

If this comparison holds, we can anticipate similar pricing for the basic bundles of the DJI Air 3. The Air 2S received high praise upon its release, being hailed as one of the best drones available and offering excellent value for its price.

However, the drone landscape has evolved since then with the introduction of the smaller DJI Mini 3 Pro. Some drone enthusiasts have expressed hopes for a compact mid-range drone with a large Four-Thirds camera similar to the DJI Mavic 3.

Unfortunately, the leaked pricing suggests that such aspirations might not materialize, as a professional-grade camera would significantly drive up the Air 3's price.

What's In the News

While the DJI Air 3 may not revolutionize the mid-range drone segment, it promises to be an exciting prospect for amateur aerial photographers.

The leaked pricing indicates that the Air 3 will launch alongside two new controllers, potentially offering enhanced features that will leave current DJI drone owners envious.

Although specifics about the new controllers are still unclear, there is reason to believe that they will provide notable improvements.
