DJI Mavic 3 Pro with Triple-Camera Setup Rumored to Launch Soon

The drone might be available for purchase as early as April 25.

Top drone maker DJI is rumored to be releasing the Mavic 3 Pro soon, which could be the company's first drone with three built-in cameras, TechRadar reports.

According to the latest rumors, the drone might be available for purchase as early as April 25, just a few weeks after the announced DJI Inspire 3.

DJI Mavic 3 Pro: What the Leaks Say

Leaks shared on Twitter by @DealsDrone, tell us that the DJI Mavic 3 Pro will be a highly versatile drone with three built-in cameras.

This feature will surely excite aerial photographers and videographers, even if it comes at a high cost. The DJI Mavic 3 was released for $2,199, so the Mavic 3 Pro is likely to be more expensive.

The images shared by @DealsDrone reveal nothing new about the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, but they confirm that the drone will be available in a retail package that includes the drone without a controller and a DJI RC pad option. Additionally, a more premium DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine version with 1TB internal storage is expected.

More About the Triple Camera Setup

Everyone is wondering what focal lengths the three cameras will provide. TechRadar notes that the first two cameras of the Mavic 3 Pro are expected to be similar to the Mavic 3's main wide-angle camera, with a 4/3-inch CMOS sensor and a 24mm lens, and a second 162mm telephoto camera with a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor. The third camera is expected to be a mid-telephoto offering with a 70mm focal length and 4K/60p video capability.

According to DroneDJ, DJI leaker @OsitaLV hinted at the development of such a product back in August 2022, with the drone potentially featuring a 4/3-inch CMOS sensor with a 24 mm wide angle lens, a 1-inch CMOS sensor with a 50 mm lens, and a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor with a 160 mm telephoto lens.

More Information Coming Soon

While we wait for more information on the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, it is clear that this drone will be an excellent choice for those who require maximum photographic flexibility from a compact drone.

The DJI Mavic 3 series took a while to find its footing, but the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Classic are now among the best drones on the market, and the Mavic 3 Pro is expected to follow suit.

The DJI Mavic 3 Classic has a single full-frame 8K cinema-level camera for wide-angle shooting, whereas the standard Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine has a telephoto lens for B-roll footage or alternative angles. With an additional mid-telephoto lens, the Mavic 3 Pro will be DJI's most versatile flying camera to date.

There are still many unknowns about the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, such as whether the main camera will have a 4/3-inch CMOS sensor or if it will be downgraded to make room for the other two cameras.
