In collaboration with the Tangle Ecosystem Association (TEA), a Swiss-based association that supports builders utilizing the technology of IOTA, SwissOne Capital launches the first fund to support the Shimmer and IOTA ecosystems known as the SwissOne IOTA Shimmer Opportunities Fund (SISO).
Overview of SISO
The launch of SISO brings new opportunities as it is entirely dedicated to leading projects and infrastructure that support the growth of Shimmer and IOTA's ecosystems.
Registered in Luxembourg, the SISO fund is a close-ended limited partnership with a minimum starting investment of €10,000 (or equivalent in $MIOTA or $SMR).
The fund's creation allows institutional and qualified investors to gain access to both ecosystems through a basket of token and equity holdings that include $MIOTA and $SMR.
SISO takes advantage of asymmetric risk-return investment opportunities and mitigates downside risks. This includes Decentralized Finance (DeFi) activities that have generated attractive yields like liquidity pools, automatic market makers, and lending pools.
Moreover, the recent launching of SISO works in favor of Shimmer. The first fund becomes an anchor investor to the projects and infrastructure of the Shimmer ecosystem as it would soon launch Shimmer EVM.
The Combined Ecosystem of IOTA and Shimmer
IOTA stands as a pioneering open-source distributed ledger technology (DLT). It provides a more efficient and expandable L1 network by using a directed acyclic graph (DAG) structure instead of a traditional blockchain. Meanwhile, Shimmer acts as the incentivized L1 staging and validation network of the IOTA DLT.
What Is the Difference Between DAG and Blockchains?
DAG and blockchains record transactions on a distributed ledgers. However, the way they do this is different. Blockchain bundles its transactions into blocks. IOTA doesn't use any blockchain at all. Instead, it uses a DAG with vertices and edges, where crypto transactions are recorded as vertices on top of another. IOTA's Tangle overcomes many barriers blockchain technologies face, and enables an open, feeless, and highly scalable distributed ledger.
IOTA and Shimmer ecosystems work together so developers can build and launch innovative dApps and ecosystems. In addition, they allow the developers to test new features before these innovations become available on the IOTA mainnet. These two ecosystems, when combined, became one of the unique ecosystems made for dApps, infrastructure networks, and their large community of cryptocurrency users.
With the collaboration of SwissOne Capital and TEA, the funding of SISO can ensure the success of the projects created by IOTA and Shimmer, as it aims to foster sustainable growth in both ecosystems.
Why Should Investors Take an Interest in SISO?
Firstly, SwissOne Capital has a seasoned management team. The priority lies in the safety of their client's investments, so maintaining their trust becomes crucial. SwissOne Capital assures that it only partners with highly respected, trusted, and credible vendors and observes the strictest protocols when managing transactions through multi-signature authorization.
What Benefits Can SISO Provide Its Investors?
Besides early access to projects of both IOTA and Shimmer ecosystems, investors receive their share of the costs of due diligence and benefit from risk management techniques. With the capable management team of SwissOne Capital, investors gain assistance yet can still remain independent in their decision-making.
When interviewed, IOTA Co-Founder Dominik Schiener is "thrilled to see SwissOne Capital's commitment to investing in projects across the ecosystem" and wishes to see SISO grow alongside the community. He also mentions that Shimmer EVM, Shimmer's latest project supported by SISO, is only the "first of many Smart Contract Chains" that offers unique features and capabilities to EVM, like an expanded set of user-friendly tools for creating new web3 applications.
What Is EVM?
EVM stands for Ethereum Virtual Machine. It activates a special code (or smart contracts) to run on a decentralized blockchain platform known as Ethereum. EVM focuses on delivering transactions within the Ethereum network alongside smart contract deployment. This enables participants to transact with each other without the presence of a central authority.
Moreover, Schiener adds that the launch of EVM-compatible smart contracts enables Shimmer and IOTA to lead a new era of growth fuelled by crypto-native use cases, including DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and more.
The CEO of SwissOne Capital, Steffen Bassler, also expressed his excitement about launching the first fund for the ecosystems of IOTA and Shimmer, emphasizing the clients' benefit from the early access to the projects building within the combined ecosystem. He assures that SwissOne Capital is committed to its partnership with TEA to ensure that the SISO fund is managed in the best interests of its investors and other clients.
SwissOne Capital makes certain SISO serves as an asset to the overall growth and success of the projects and infrastructure soon to be created by Shimmer and IOTA. Investing now means exposure to their ecosystem and access to their respective tokens. In the foreseeable future, SwissOne Capital plans to introduce new financial products for retail investors to consider.
