The Stable Diffusion is an AI tool that generates AI images, and one issue that many people noticed was that it was unable to create more convincing hands. However, its newest update is expected to fix this issue known as "spaghetti hands."
Stable Diffusion SDXL 0.9 Is an Upgraded Version of the Stable Diffusion XL
According to Engadget, the next version of Stable Diffusion, the prompt-based AI image generator, will be capable of coming up with what is described as "more photorealistic images." That comes as the next version is expected to improve at making hands.
The new update, Stable Diffusion SDXL 0.9, follows the Stable Diffusion XL, which was reportedly capable of producing "improved image and composite detail" compared to the previous version, according to Stability AI.
The company's announcement was posted in a blog post that Bloomberg cited in its report. The Stability AI noted that SDXL 0.9 will provide "a leap in creative use cases for generative AI imagery."
Stable Diffusion XL Beta Compared to the SDXL 0.9
It was reported that the sample images on the blog post showed changes and upgrades when comparing the Stable Diffusion XL beta and the newer SDXL 0.9.
As seen in the images, the previous version of the hands showed some distortion, but in the image generated by the newer Stable Diffusion model, the hands appeared more realistic.
The hands were reportedly an easy "tell" to spot AI-generated art until at least a rival platform that runs on Discord called Midjourney v5 launched in March.
Stability AI also highlighted the different uses of this technology and its ability to create hyper-realistic results for film, television, music, and instructional videos. It was reported that this technology also provides advancements in design and industrial use.
SDXL Minimum Requirements Include 16 GB of RAM and At least a GeForce RTX 20 GPU
The new SDXL will reportedly give real-world applications for using AI images. Stability AI announced that its new model comes with a significant increase regarding parameter count, which then translates into better results.
It was also reported that the SDXL 0.9 could run locally on a PC if its minimum requirements were met, such as having 16 GB of RAM and at least a GeForce RTX 20 or higher graphics card.
Users Would Need a Windows 11, 10, or Linux Operating System
The graphics card would need at least 8 GB of VRAM, and regarding the operation system, users would have to have at least a Windows 11 or Windows 10 OS. It was also reported that the AI solution could run on Linux.
It was also announced in the blog post that the model would be made available on the Stability AI Clipdrop, its web tool used by designers to create AI images. The new version would also be added to the DreamStudio app. The company said the open-source version of SDXL 1.0 is expected to arrive in mid-July.
