1 TB Samsung 990 PRO Series PS5 Storage Spotted Selling at a 47% Discount Ahead of Amazon Prime Day

The 1 TB Samsung 990 Pro Series is now 47% off.

With the evolution of game graphics, storing games is starting to become more difficult as some titles take up hundreds of gigabytes of storage. This is why to store multiple games on a PlayStation 5, additional storage is needed.

Samsung 990 Pro Series Spotted Selling at Just a Fraction of Its Price

Now, fans can upgrade their gaming rig for just below $100 with the help of the Samsung 990 Pro series, which dropped from $169.99 to just $89.99 ahead of the Amazon Prime Day sale which is expected to happen on July 11. This was after a 47% discount, knocking $70 off its price.

According to the story by IGN, this comes amid an exciting year for PlayStation owners as more titles have launched and even more titles are expected to release. However, it can be hard to keep up with limited storage, which is where the Samsung 990 Pro Series comes in.

The Samsung 990 PRO Series was spotted on Amazon, reportedly selling at a 47% discount for early Amazon Prime Day. This was reportedly for the 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe 2.0c M.2 Internal SSD storage.

The 2 TB Option is Also on Sale at 45% Off, Dropping It to Just Slightly Over $150

While 1 TB is already a lot, if some gamers find that they need more than a single terabyte (1,000 gigabytes) of storage, they can choose the 2 TB option, which is also selling at a discount. Although not as discounted as the 1 TB, the 2 TB version also cuts its price massively.

It was spotted that the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB version was selling for just $159.99 after a 45% discount. This was from its original price of $289.99, which was closer to $300, making it quite expensive for gamers if thought of as additional storage.

Latest Games with Massive File Sizes and Require Big Memory

An article by Game Rant shares the different PS5 games that take up hundreds of gigabytes with "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" being the heaviest. The game reportedly had a file size of 312.6 GB, meaning they would take a third of the 1 TB storage instantaneously.

The second heaviest game was "Gran Turismo 7," which has a file size of 196.8 GB and takes around a fifth of the 1 TB storage. The third was "Marvel's Avengers," which had a close price at 192 GB.

It was noted that the Samsung 990 Pro SSD was one of the fastest SSDs out there with a read speed of 7,450mbps and a write speed of 6,900mbps. Although the SSD was already selling at a massive discount, this comes before the official Amazon Prime Day sale.

During Amazon Prime Day, the price of different gadgets, devices, and tech hardware are also expected to experience discounts. However, there's also no guarantee that buyers would get the same or similar deal as they would now with the Samsung 990 Pro SSD, which is selling at 47% off for the 1 TB version and 45% off for the 2 TB version on Amazon.
