Twitch star and long-time streamer, xQc, is now officially part of Kick, a new rival streaming platform where he was offered a $100 million deal to also bring his content to the up-and-coming site. This new streaming deal is not an issue or because he was kicked from Twitch, but rather a career growth for one of the highest-grossing streamers of this time.
Kick's deal with xQc is also not a problem for Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, as well as the other folks over at the company and Amazon, with the team being "happy" for the content creator.
Twitch's xQc to Stream for Rival Platform, Kick, with a $100M Deal
It is now confirmed that xQc has signed a streaming contract with a rival company, Kick.com, securing a deal worth $100 million to bring his content over to the platform. According to the New York Times, Félix Lengyel, best known for his online persona, xQc, has signed a contract similar to professional athletes with the rival platform for two years.
The contract's offer is at $70 million for the content creator, but incentives may push the total to about roughly $100 million with incentives, said xQc's agent, Ryan Morrison.
In xQc's latest stream on Twitch, he released a trailer video amidst his live show which confirms his new beginnings over at Kick. Additionally, xQc has also started his first stream at Kick earlier today.
Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, Other Employees 'Happy' for xQc
As per xQc's recent stream at Twitch in a Just Chatting segment, Lengyel explained that people over at Twitch did not have any problems with his newfound deal with Kick.
Moreover, the streamer said that Twitch's new CEO, Dan Clancy, and other employees from the company were "happy" for him "diversifying" his platforms in the latest deal.
Twitch Streaming and Content Creator Issues
One of the most popular streaming platforms in the world, Twitch, is also known for being strict and absolute with its guidelines, resulting in different creators looking for other platforms due to bans or problems. In 2020, one of the most prolific Twitch streamers, Dr DisRespect, faced a significant ban on Twitch that has unknown reasons from the company.
The Amazon-owned streaming platform that was known before as "Justin.tv" is renowned for its Community Guidelines and policies that are grueling for some creators.
Twitch does not tolerate any form of misinformation on the platform, with the company saying that an imminent ban is waiting for a streamer should they talk about conspiracy theories, fake news about COVID-19, and more.
Lengyel is one of the top streamers on Twitch but is looking to grow more of his career on other platforms, now securing a deal with the new platform, Kick. The good thing is that the team over at Twitch has no problems or issues with this, and is happy for xQc's career growth and diversifying his platforms despite being a rival to its services.
