One of the most iconic content creators in the world is none other than Felix Kjellberg, famously known for his YouTube handle, "PewDiePie," which has been banned on Twitch. The reason is still unclear as Twitch is also notorious for not sharing details regarding a streamer or content creators' ban on the platform, leaving fans and the audience uninformed.
PewDiePie is best known for his YouTube days, being one of the pioneers of content creation on the platform, and also for his "Let's Play" videos that mostly centered on horror genre games.
PewDiePie Faces a Twitch Ban on His Streams
YouTube's former most beloved content creator is happy with his life, but a recent development over at Twitch is now set to confuse his fans and the world, especially as he is now facing a ban over the platform. According to ComicBook Gaming, it was recently reported by a Twitter account that tracks account activity on Twitch called "Streamer Ban" has reported that PewDiePie is no longer accessible via Twitch streams.
PewDiePie's account was only banned this Tuesday, May 9, as per the Twitter account's monitoring and tracking.
Before this, PewDiePie has been operating his Twitch streams since 2017 and has not faced any bans from the platform since then.
As per ComicBook Gaming's report, PewDiePie's present content is a repurpose of his old content streamed through the platform, speculated to be a way to continue his ad revenue.
Why was PewDiePie Banned on Twitch?
As mentioned earlier, there are no exact reasons or statements from Twitch regarding PewDiePie's ban, but there is a theory from the report as to what might have happened.
One of the soundest reasons was something regarding his content which he repurposed for Twitch, and in this, the online personality may have said or shown something in his old materials that may have violated the Community Guidelines.
It remains unknown as to why PewDiePie is banned, or if and when his channel would be back on Twitch.
PewDiePie and His Legacy
PewDiePie may not have been an online personality before he started his YouTube career, and it showed his significant growth and rise in the gaming industry as one of its most prolific streamers in the world. As fans of the content creator followed his every move online, they have witnessed his evolution, as well as his discovery of love with fellow content creator, Marzia, and eventually taking a break from streaming in 2020.
While ranking is not much of an issue with PewDiePie, there were certain moments where he lost the top spot in having the most subscribers on the platform several times before.
However, it was not until recently in November 2022, when he was ultimately beaten as the top most subscribed creator on YouTube by another influential online personality of the modern times, with Jimmy Donaldson, a.k.a. "Mr. Beast," taking the top spot in the present.
As PewDiePie is basking in his success and his current life, he is more laid back in his posts and online content, as evidenced by his latest YouTube videos, focusing more on vlogging and reaction videos in the present. However, this recent ban on Twitch may affect his online presence, as his streams on the platform will no longer be available for fans who prefer Twitch over YouTube and others.
