Many gamers are waiting for the release of NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, which was earlier announced to be launched in July.
On Wednesday, NVIDIA tweeted that its GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card will be available starting June 29 at 6 a.m. PT or 9 a.m. ET. This card is the first mainstream GPU in Nvidia's RTX 40-series lineup.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Will Hit the Market Starting June 29
The highly anticipated GeForce RTX 4060 will reportedly hit the market earlier than expected with a price tag of $299. According to The Verge, it was initially set to be released alongside the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB.
However, NVIDIA will now release the two independently. The new GPU is reportedly the most affordable entry so far into NVIDIA's 40-series GPU lineup. The company has placed the RTX 4060 for gaming at 1080p instead of 1440p or 4K.
NVIDIA Details Different Capabilities of the GeForce RTX 4060 Family Including AI-Accelerated Gaming
The company's tweet included a link to the official NVIDIA website, which provides more details about the GeForce RTX 4060 family.
NVIDIA noted that its new GPU comes with upgraded AI-accelerated graphics performance of DLSS 3 and ray tracing, among others. The DLSS 3 reportedly uses AI to create additional high-quality frames.

The RTX 4060 will eventually have two Ti-variants in Nvidia's lineup: the $399 RTX 4060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM and the RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB of RAM with a $499 price tag. The company said its GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM is already available, while the 16GB is coming in July.
New GPU Comes With NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace Architecture
With the power of RTX 40 Series and third-gen RT Cores, NVIDIA said buyers could experience incredibly detailed virtual worlds like never before.
The company noted that the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 will use NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace Architecture which the firm described as being "ahead of its time, ahead of the game." Gamers will be given up to 2x performance and power efficiency through its new streaming multiprocessors.
New GPU Runs More Power Efficiently
The upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 is reportedly $30 more affordable compared to the RTX 3060, its predecessor, and it is equipped with less VRAM than the previous generation. The new GPU comes with just 8GB of GDDR5 memory on a 128-bit memory interface compared to the last 12GB offering.
However, one significant improvement on the RTX 4060 is how it runs more power efficiently, drawing 115 watts of total graphics power and averaging around 110 watts, compared to 170 watts during gameplay previously. With the cheaper price tag and a better match in processing power, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 could be an appealing option.
