Twitter Still Not Paying Rent? Colorado Office Faces Eviction Notice from Judge

Twitter faces the same case on their Boulder office.

One of the largest social media platforms of the company, Twitter, is now facing an eviction notice from a judge after it sided with the landlord in the platform's Colorado office. This adds to the increasing complaints against Twitter regarding unpaid rent in its offices in different locations, with the most significant being its San Fransisco headquarters.

Massive changes are now underway on Twitter with its change of leadership and the start of its new CEO, but the new executive is faced with many problems present in the company, including rent.

The Denver Business Journal has reported that Twitter has recently faced a complaint from a landlord in Boulder, Colorado, after paying to pay its rent on a property where its office is. Twitter missed as much as three months of payment to the landlord and has prompted a lawsuit that would kick them out of the property.

Twitter was unable to pay as much as $75,000 to the land owner, and this is a significant sum for the famed private company, also known for its notorious missed payments for other offices.

According to Engadget, Twitter does not make out traditional rent payments but entered into a credit agreement with the land owner of as much as $968,000 back in 2020. Twitter's credit ran out a few months back and has not been able to supplement the agreed-upon price for the rental.

Unpaid Rent? Colorado Judge is Not Having It

The judge assigned to the case sided with the landlord in getting Twitter evicted from the property and was already issued a notice to vacate it, giving the social media until the end of July to comply. Furthermore, there were reports of other bills in Colorado that Twitter was unable to pay, with as much as $100,000 owed to a cleaning company.

Twitter's Rent Problems

One of the earliest complaints against Twitter was around the time that Elon Musk was settling in the company as its CEO and owner, and this is with its San Fransisco HQ location's rental payment issues. At first, reports were swirling in that Twitter was behind on its payments made out to their landlord, being a massive case against the platform.

It was followed by another rent issue with its London office, with a lawsuit hanging over the social media's name for skipping the agreed-upon terms for their rent on the property. The company owed Crown Estate, a known company whose massive portfolio includes as many as 241 properties in Central London, with the case brought to the city's highest court.

Twitter 2.0 is on its way to seeing a brighter tomorrow, as promised by its new CEO Linda Yaccarino, who is now working to improve the company. However, it is now seeing an eviction notice over at its Colorado office for its failure to pay a significant amount on the property they use, a seemingly bad start for the new executive.
