Free Unlimited Overnight Charging

After gaining experience through the company's virtual power plants, Tesla launched " Tesla Electric " late last year, essentially becoming an energy retailer. This division is available to Powerwall owners in Texas but plans to expand through a new branch. But according to a report from Electrek, this division offers a new incentive to attract new customers.

Tesla Electric will waive the $30-a-month fee for Texas residents that will buy new Model 3 vehicles. This offer will be eligible between May 26th and June 30th, 2023. This can be used to see if their home is eligible for the Tesla Electric plan, and owners can also join to get unlimited overnight home charging that will cost them $300 dollars annually.

The Tesla Electric Home Charging Plan in eligible territories of Texas offer will be exclusive to Tesla vehicle owners, where users can overnight charge their EVs for $30 per month or $1 per day. The automaking company also stated that expect more details about the program this summer.

Tesla Unlimited Overnight Charging Plan

During the company's Investor Day last March, Tesla announced its plans to use Tesla Electric to offer owners unlimited overnight charging for $30 per month. Despite its expenses, the company can offer this through its relationships with electric utilities that have a surplus of power at night due to lower demand and strong wind power.

Tesla incentivizes owners to charge at night on cheap electricity, which is a win-win situation for both parties. This plan delighted some fans as Bloomberg reported that power traders have long wished that electricity could become cheaper than usual if profits will be driven more by selling the services rather than the megawatts themselves.

BloombergNEF Analyst Corey Cantor stated, "Seeing auto companies get more involved with how home charging works (and when) is a positive shift to avoid overloading the grid as the EV fleet grows.

Aside from this, Tesla also teased another interesting detail on the same day. Tesla Global Charging Infrastructure Head Rebecca Tinucci dropped the mic as she concluded her presentation with a slide that stated, "Can't Forget To Do Cool S***."

Auto Evolution reported that the image contained a Supercharging station with a diner and a home garage that comes with a wireless charging pad. This might be a teaser for Wireless charging that could be more efficient other than its wireless capabilities.
