The Toyota Celica, one of the most iconic Japanese cars in the automobile industry, could be revived.
Celica is considered an old vehicle; with its latest variant (7th-gen) being sold way back in 1999 until 2006.
Now, rumors claiming that Toyota will make a new Celica model are spreading across the internet.
Fans of the car are excited since they could see the iconic vehicle in its possible new form.
However, will the next-gen Toyota Celica really arrive?
Toyota Celica Could Be Revived as Electric Sports Car!
According to Drive AU's latest report, Toyota's new president, Koji Sato, and the car company's chairman, Akio Toyoda, shared their intent to revive the iconic Celica.
"I want to revive the Celica," said Sato.

Before Sato took over the position of Toyoda as Toyota's new president, he was the chief engineer of the Lexus LC.
He was able to complete the LFAII as his last task before transitioning to Toyota. This means that Sato has a strong attachment to sports vehicles.
Because of this, he wants to design and develop a new Celica as his first project.
"If I were to start now, it would be a BEV sports coupe, and a modernly updated design with the image of the Celica of yesteryear would be the most powerful," said the new Toyota president via Best Car.
What To Expect From New Celica?
As of writing, Toyota hasn't shared the exact features and other details about the alleged electric Celica.
But, some renders showing its possible design are already on the internet. One of these is the digital illustrations made by Theottle.
Based on his renders, the new electric Celica will be inspired by the GR86 and other two-door models from Lexus.
When it comes to the car type, there's a chance it would be a GR model since Sato wants to continue producing GR sports cars.
However, the new Toyota Celica could also be a standard passenger vehicle. As of press time, it is still unclear when the new electric Celica sports car will start its development.
