The new Facebook auto-sending friend request bug has been fixed by Meta.
The social media glitch started affecting users around May 12 or May 11. The latest Facebook bug alarmed many users because it caused their accounts to send unwanted friend requests.
Just imagine stalking your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend. It would be a drag to accidentally send them a friend request, right?

According to Android Authority, Meta has already fixed the Facebook auto-sending friend request bug.

As of writing, the tech giant firm hasn't shared any statement about what caused the FB glitch. Many affected Facebook users shared their experiences on Twitter. Some took it as a joke, while others were concerned.
"@facebook @Meta why when I search for someone and view their profile does it automatically send them a friend request? Never happened before. #Facebook #meta," said @Ladygoldensun.
"A truly horrific day for #Facebook stalking. Some kind of glitch on the Android app automatically sends a friend request when you view someone's profile," added another disappointed Facebook user.

What Can Facebook Users Do?
If you are still affected by the Facebook glitch or are not aware if you were affected, then here's what you can do.
Since the newest FB glitch causes your account to automatically send friend requests to people you are checking, the best thing you can do is check your sent friend requests.
To do this, Facebook's official Help website provides the steps you can follow:
- First, click you need to click need to click the three-line (burger) icon located at the bottom-left of your profile.
- After that, choose the Friends option and click the "See All" button.
- Then, tap on the three-dot option in the top-right corner of your screen.
- From there, click "View Sent Requests."
- Once you are there, just cancel all the friend requests you didn't want to send in the first place.
