Snapchat to Feature Ads on My AI Powered by ChatGPT, But It Is Not What You Think (Thankfully)

The new My AI is giving users ads, but it may not be the annoying ones.

When hearing that one service would be featuring ads on its processes or platform, it may be something to get annoyed with, as most ads present in apps or services now are disruptive of the process. However, this may not be the case for Snapchat's My AI, as it will bring ads inconspicuously for users, something that would not completely block off the experience.

The famed My AI feature of Snapchat brings the famous ChatGPT system to the app, with the integration helping people have a trusty AI chatbot in the system.

Snapchat to Feature Ads on My AI Results and Responses

As revealed by Snap in the NewFronts event earlier today, Conversations with My AI will feature sponsored links or advertisements that will presently be in an experimental state for users to see. This means that users will not be bothered by pop-ups or banner ads that would limit their view of the screen, making it a minimal addition to the chatbot.

This means that every prompt or question would bring links to helpful suggestions from My AI, but also feature its community with partners that are relevant to what the user is looking for.

The Ads in Snapchat would not be limited to My AI, as the Spotlight would also feature rolling ads from partners that would be highlighted when viewing Stories or other content in the Spotlight feature.

Will Ads Be the Solution for its Poor, 1-Star Reviews?

According to 9to5 Mac, Snapchat's My AI has been met with poor reviews, with users rating it with 1-star on the app stores, particularly as free users cannot unpin it from the top of their conversations or screens.

This new ads feature for My AI would bring relevant suggestions that would lead them to better results, and would not only place ads out of nothing, like other platforms that push for these types of content. The report also said this may be the solution to users' complaints against this feature.

Snapchat and its App Development

Snapchat may seem behind its peers and competitors in the market, but it remains a famous social media in the world for showcasing a person's daily life through its Stories feature. It is also a significant social media and communication platform that has endured the test of time, particularly as competitors find a new ways to bring features and engagements to their platforms.

One of the largest developments pushed by Snap this year was its My AI which first made its way to Snapchat+ subscribers that got a massive firsthand view before its public availability.

The significant ChatGPT integration to Snapchat brought the AI chatbot to the platform, allowing users to get text responses and command it to do everything they ask from it.

With My AI being Snapchat's latest and most valued tech now, the company is looking for more ways to make it interactive and attract more users to use the AI. Now, a new feature is coming and this is through the integration of advertisements which Snap promises to not disrupt one's experience, but appear more natural in its conversations through helpful suggestions or recommendations.
