"League of Legends" AI bots are expected to have major enhancements, as confirmed by Riot Games Technical Product Lead Darcy Ludington.
If this is true, then the Co-Op vs. AI mode will greatly help many players who are practicing, especially newbie "LoL" gamers.
The Co-Op vs. AI mode is one of the oldest game content in Summoner's Rift. This is the only mode that new players can access before they can play normal and ranked matches.
However, they are not really helpful when it comes to practicing since the experience in Co-Op vs. AI is quite different from normal matches.
This is what Riot Games is trying to change.
'League of Legends' AI Bots to Be Enhanced!
According to PC Gamer's latest report, Riot Games is planning to release a big overhaul for the improvement of Co-Op vs. AI.
The enhancements will give AI bots the ability to gank, jungle, and take down dragons. But, one of the most important improvements for these AI bots is allowing them to learn and react to changes in the metagame.
As of writing, the AI bots in Co-Op vs. AI mode can't do the basic strategies that real human gamers can do.
But, once the new enhancements are released, these AI-powered bots are expected to be on par with human players; making the Co-Op vs. AI mode comparable to normal matches.
Riot Games Invests in AI Bots
Via his official blog post, Ludington said that the existing Co-Op vs. AI mode doesn't really help newbie players enhance their skills.
This is why they want to invest in improving AI bots so that new gamers can have an area to enjoy the strategy and team aspects of Summoner's Rift.
"With the growing desire of both devs and players, our team was formed to help create a new scalable system for bots that would enable players to learn and grow in League," said Ludington.
