Niantic is known for bringing the augmented reality world to its games with the likes of "Pokemon Go" and "Ingress," which caught the attention of mainstream players.
The San Francisco-based software firm has revealed its plans to launch "Monster Hunter Now" on iOS and Android in September.
With the latest announcement about a mobile RPG, the company will not be doing this big project alone. It will collaborate with Capcom to make monster hunting a reality in the "real" world."
Niantic to Roll Out Newest 'Monster Hunter Now' AR Game
Hunting mysterious monsters whose questionable whereabouts only exist in books and video games. Apparently, you can soon battle monsters in the real world, thanks to Niantic's upcoming AR mobile game.
According to The Verge, Niantic will help you see a new world of augmented reality by releasing the "Monster Hunter Now" game.
The real-world map will let you encounter tons of furry and scaly creatures you can meet along the journey. Of course, Niantic will stick to the usual gameplay cycle we saw from the previous and current "Monster Hunter" games.
You can craft and wield your weapons and armor before you engage in combat. According to Niantic, the battles will last for 75 seconds at most, which is a big difference from the other MonHun titles before it will take you 10 to 20 minutes before you move forward to the next clash.
"We wanted to make the combat element simple and intuitive, but still hard to master," Nianti's Tokyo studio's senior producer Sake Osumi told the press.
