Netflix Down During #LoveisBlindLIVE

Fans anticipated the reunion episode of the mega-hit dating reality show Love is Blind, which is supposed to be streamed at 5:00 PM PT. But according to Bloomberg's report, the show experienced delays on Sunday evening after Netflix goes down.

An error message was sent to users through the web browser interface and it stated, "Pardon the interruption. We're having trouble playing Netflix. Please check your internet and try again." This situation was acknowledged by Netflix right away on Twitter and stating that the show will be live in 15 minutes.

The outage affected 75% of its video streaming, users while others reported problems with Netflix's website and application. As per Downdetector, there are as many as 12,700 outages were reported by users as of the moment.

To lighten up the mood of its users and fans of the show, Netflix tried to entice viewers through the delays by sharing images of the cast members, including Irina Solomonova with a caption, "Promise it's worth the wait."

Vanessa Lachey, the host of the show, also joined Netflix by thanking the fans for patiently waiting on an Instagram post. She shared a video of herself with her husband and co-host Nick Lachey who are both ready to go live in front of a studio audience.

Lachey said that fans broke the internet to see this reunion and they are both ready (along with the contestans and studio audience) to roll this reunion once the problem is solved, indicating that the delay was caused by a technical error.

But as Netflix and the hosts tried to entice its viewers by communicating with them on social media, other companies took this opportunity to mock this situation at the major streaming service's outage situation.

The Sun reported that Blockbuster responded to a tweet and stated that renting VHS with them could start a show with no problem. Bravo also jumped in and said that they would never keep fans waiting for an episode like this.

Live Events

This reunion episode marks Netflix's second live event, following the successful broadcast of the comedy standup special "Chris Rock: Selective Outrage' last March. Compared to Love is Blind, Variety reported that this show experience no technical issues, drawing sizable viewership numbers for the following days after its release.

Netflix is also set next year to stream the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony live. This will mark the first major awards show to broadcast via a streaming service.
