Google Pixel 8 Case Leak Hints on New Renders of Upcoming Flagship Series

Will Google stick to the distinctive camera bar for Pixel 8 series?

High-resolution renders of Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro cases have been leaked online. The launch of the upcoming flagship smartphones is not yet announced, but we will most likely see them coming in October 2023 if the pattern of the previous release schedule is to be followed.

According to Android Central, SlashLeaks have shown the early designs of Pixel 8 lineup cases. The protective cover is said to be made from silicone or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane).

Interestingly, the renders perfectly match the design of the Google Pixel 8 models. It's worth checking that Google could be planning to tweak its corners to be "more rounded" than its predecessors.

When it comes to the Pixel 8 Pro case, the render displays that the new smartphone will have a tri-camera setup that will be housed inside a pill-shaped look.

It only goes to show that the details of the recently-leaked accessories support the previous rumors about Pixel 8 design.

Additionally, the Pro Pixels variant is allegedly having a telephoto camera. While this could be an exciting specification to include, some rumors suggest that it might get a backup sensor instead.

Another report by TechRadar points out that the regular Pixel 8 might debut as a smaller handset than the Pixel 7. It tells us that the case won't get stuck with the older model even though their designs are pretty similar.

Is Google retaining the camera bar feature for Pixel 8?

There's a possibility that Google is preserving some strategy to retain its users by the time Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro arrive.

The idea of changing a recognizable feature in the upcoming flagship smartphones could be a bad idea for those who have gotten used to it, yet this could be a key for others to explore more options outside the usual feature.

TechRadar notes that based on the leaked renders, Google won't stray away from the regular camera bar that is present in other Pixel models.

It's ideal that the search engine giant will stick to this unique feature-the same tactic that Apple did with the iPhone's home button.

Rumored Specs of Pixel 8 Series

When it comes to the rumored specifications of the Pixel 8 handsets, we could be getting a Google Tensor G3 chipset this time for both variants.

Aside from that, Google might change the way we see the curved display for the Pixel 8 Pro. At this point, no one knows the company's plans for these products unless an insider spits out more information soon.

Notebookcheck reports that next month, the Google I/O 2023 keynote is about to kick off. This could be the perfect moment for the company to preview the Pixel 8 series together with other gadgets, including the Pixel Fold, Pixel 7a, Pixel tablet, and Android 14.
