Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are likely getting a new tool that essentially unblurs videos.
It appears that Google is working on a new "Video Unblur" feature for its future Pixel phones, following the arrival of the "Photo Unblur" option to Pixel 7.
The search giant is seemingly giving buyers more reason to choose its flagship mobile device over what Apple or Samsung offer.
Google Pixel 8 Might Offer New Video Unblur Tool
Android Authority notes in its report that the Google Photo Unblur tool, which debuted on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro is one of the features that set it apart from iPhones or Samsung Galaxy devices. Simply put, it was one of its selling points, besides its top-notch camera performance and more affordable pricing.
Now that the Pixel 7 series has been on the shelves for quite some time now, Google is now working on its successor, presumably the Pixel 8 lineup.
And to make the next-generation flagship phone more enticing, the renowned tech giant needs to offer something new. It looks like Google is eyeing to expand its Photo Unblur tool to videos.
The Pixel 7 unblur feature helps its users transform their ugly-looking blurry photos into sharp and clear-looking ones. It has been a handy option for images, which sometimes get a bit too blurry to even make it to Instagram.
As the Pixel 8 and Pixel Pro are on their way, it is likely to introduce a new Video Unblur option.
Video Unblur Feature Still Under Development
It looks like blurry videos might soon get a solution. 9to5 Google discovered beneath the Google Photos app APK that a new feature is in the works, which unblurs videos rather than images.
Although the code for the Unblur Video UI is already present, the tool itself has yet to be available for testing. With that, it is unclear how the potential new feature works.

Is it a Google Pixel Exclusive Feature?
It is worth mentioning that the Photo Unblur feature is exclusive to Google Pixel phones. So if you own an Apple iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy phone you are missing out on this specific photo editing tool.
That said, the new Video Unblur tool that Google is working on might end up as a Pixel-exclusive feature. But for now, it is too early to tell for sure. It might end up being abandoned along the way as it is still under development. So do take this with a grain of salt until Google confirms such a feature.
