Amazon's New AIs: Bedrock and Titan
Amazon Web Services

Amazon's latest press release introduces the latest tools it is offering its customers under AWS to build generative AI technologies right under its cloud-based web platform. The new development centers on foundational large language models that aim to deliver adept developer tools to help create new systems to assist their web needs.

This centers on the Titan and Bedrock foundational models, that will bring buildable and scalable machine-learning tools to one's website or platform.

Amazon claims that different ML (machine learning) and AI tools will be accessible through its AWS, centering on the possibility to create chatbots, image generators, search, text generation, summarization, and more features.

The new tools will help developers and companies under AWS to deliver the power of AI to their services, tailored and customized to their branding or what they want to push to customers.

AWS to Bring Titan and Bedrock to Customers

Amazon claims that Bedrock is "the easiest way for customers to build and scale generative AI-based applications using FMs, democratizing access for all builders." It is a new service that makes foundational models from AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Stability AI, and Amazon accessible via an API.

On the other hand, Titan centers on powerful and reliable FMs that would empower its core product, the Bedrock.

Amazon's Tech Advancements

One of the famed Big Tech companies in the country is best known for its largest cloud-based computing services, AWS, which recently made a significant partnership with Hugging Face. The importance of this partnership centers on AI development, as the New York-based Hugging Face is one of the up-and-coming competitors of OpenAI in the space.

Amazon is not only focused on AI expansion but also on other industries like medicine and healthcare, particularly with its acquisition of 1Life Healthcare. The tech conglomerate also got its hands on One Medical as part of 1Life and acquired the company for as much as $3.49 billion and did not face an antitrust case with the US FTC.

The company established by Jeff Bezos, now under the leadership of Andy Jassy, is also looking to provide satellite internet connectivity to users, featuring the Kuiper project. With Amazon looking into more landscapes to bring its presence and services to, the company now enters the AI industry with Titan and Bedrock, with AWS being its distributor to clients in need.
