‘Nacho Libre’ Wrestling Video Game? Jack Black Wants this 8-Bit like ‘Donkey Kong,’ Teases New Boss

Nacho Libre fans are already turning their 'Luchador' on for this.

One of the most iconic roles of Jack Black from his earlier career was in the movie "Nacho Libre," and is something which the actor holds deep in his heart, with an idea of a video game that he carries with him at all times. With a recent interview with IGN, Black was able to pitch this idea and tell the world about it, centering on a "Nacho Libre" wrestling video game in the good old retro 8-Bit feels.

IGN's latest interview with Jack Black features the actor being asked about what movie which he starred in, and does he want to make a video game adaptation, to bring a new experience to gamers. Black immediately responds with "Nacho Libre," a 2006 film from Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies featuring a wrestling-centered plot in Mexico.

Black said that he wants to explore more of what "Nacho Libre" has to offer in a video game, with the character going around town to pursue quests.

The game would still center on an action genre, with the character facing off against other "Luchadors" in the area, ranking up to face bosses and high-stat wrestlers. Black was the film's main character, portraying "Ignacio" a monastery cook by day, and "Nacho," a Luchador by night, or when the match was held.

8-Bit Design like 'Donkey Kong,' New Villain Character

The "Nacho" actor wants the game to be like it was made in the 1980s, featuring a pixelated look also known as 8-Bit. Black also claimed that he wanted this to be like "Donkey Kong."

Black also teased the return of "Silencio," one of the movie's Luchador, and teases a new boss character to which he refers to as "The Anti Cristo."

According to ComicBook Gaming, this would not be the first game adaptation of "Nacho Libre," as it was previously made for the Nintendo DS but was met with poor reviews.

Jack Black's Iconic Roles in Film

Jack Black is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, best known for his genre-bending performances and significant talent in the industry. He is best known for his role in the early 90s to 2000s roles including posing as a substitute teacher at an elite private school for the movie "School of Rock," which was greatly adopted into a musical later on.

He is also known for his iconic voice in animated films, including DreamWorks' "Kung Fu Panda" which became a cultural icon for the bear species, highlighting the Chinese culture, and overall appraising body image.

Black also flexed his voice acting skills in the new "Super Mario Bros. The Movie," playing the iconic villain of the franchise, Bowser, a.k.a. King Koopa.

With the many iconic roles of Black including "Tenacious D," "Goosebumps," and the modern "Jumanji" franchise, there are many potential movies that can be adapted into a video game. However, the actor chooses "Nacho Libre" for this, featuring an action-packed experience that would bring the world to the 80s' 8-Bit era, expanding more of the Luchador experience, but sadly, this is only an idea for now.
