Twitter Rolls Out New Feature, Blue Subscribers See Half as Many Ads

The half ads feature is a new addition to the Twitter Blue subscription.

Twitter has introduced a new feature called Half ads, allowing Twitter Blue subscribers to view approximately 50% fewer ads in the For You and Following timelines.

Twitter Blue is a paid subscription service that offers users access to exclusive features such as Edit Tweet, Longer Tweets, and Bookmark Folders and a blue checkmark on their account.

The new feature is designed to enhance the user experience by providing more non-promoted or organic tweets in between ads or promoted tweets.

Half Ads Feature

The Half ads feature is currently limited to the For You and Following timelines. It does not apply to promoted content elsewhere on Twitter, including advertisements on profiles, ads in Tweet replies, promoted events in Explore, promoted trends, and promoted accounts to follow.

Twitter Blue subscribers will have access to this feature after their account has been reviewed for eligibility and the blue checkmark has been applied.

The half-ads feature is one of many features available to Twitter Blue subscribers. Longer Tweets, which allow subscribers to tweet up to 4,000 characters; Bookmark Folders, which lets users group and organize Bookmarked Tweets into folders for faster discovery later; and Custom App icons, which allow users to change how their Twitter App icon displays on their phone, are some of the other features available.

NFT Profile Pictures is another feature recently added to Twitter Blue, which allows users to show off the NFTs they own in a hex-shaped profile picture on their Twitter account.

After a temporary connection to the user's crypto wallet that allows them to set up an NFT as their profile picture, their digital asset displays in a special hexagon shape that identifies them as the owner of that NFT.

Other Features

Themes, Custom Navigation, Spaces Tab, Top Articles, Reader, and Undo Tweet, are among the other features available to Twitter Blue subscribers. The new Spaces Tab is a place to find podcasts, themed audio stations, recorded Spaces, and Live Spaces.

Top Articles is a shortcut to the most-shared articles in the user's network, while Reader turns long threads into a more beautiful reading experience. The Undo Tweet feature allows users to retract a tweet after they send it but before it's visible to others on Twitter.
