Samsung Galaxy S23 Fan Edition (FE) is reportedly right around the corner, potentially launching late this year. It might be priced a bit cheaper than the Galaxy S21 when it debuts.
Despite the lack of the S22 FE last year, leaks are now pointing out that Samsung may proceed with the comeback of the highly-anticipated Fan Edition in 2023.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Likely to Get Get a Cheaper Price
As early as now, leaks and predictions give us a glimpse of what to expect from the mid-range mobile device, including its specs and, now, the estimated price tag.
It looks like the South Korean phone maker is planning to make the upcoming Galaxy S23 FE more appealing to consumers.
After all, affordable bargain offerings currently flood the mid-range market. Some popular choices are Apple's iPhone SE and the Google Pixel 6a, as well as flagship killers from OnePlus and other Chinese firms.
As per a report by Sam Mobile, industry watchers are now predicting that the price of the Galaxy S23 FE might come out cheaper when it debuts in the last quarter of 2023.
The price prediction suggests that Samsung plans to make the next-generation Galaxy FE slightly cheaper than the S21 FE.
Galaxy S23 FE vs. S21 FE Price
When the giant phone maker launched the Galaxy S21 FE last January 2022, it was significantly cheaper than the flagship S21 series. It starts at nearly $700, or $699, to be more precise.
On the other hand, the price prediction for the Galaxy S23 FE estimates that it might sell to the tune of $599. In other words, it looks like Samsung is slashing the price tag of the upcoming mid-range device by roughly $100.
The latest prediction deviates from previous expectations that the Galaxy S23 FE will be more expensive than its older sibling. It has been the trend for next-generation devices, apart from keeping the pricing.
Galaxy S23 FE: What to Expect
With the cheaper price tag, it looks like Samsung is planning a few cost-cutting measures.
For instance, Tom's Guide reports that the Galaxy S23 FE might rock a more affordable processor, potentially Samsung's Exynos chipset.
Besides that, it might feature a plastic rear body rather than the glass finish found on the flagship S23 lineup.
As for the camera department, it might get an upgrade 50MP primary snapper, which Galaxy S22 users are familiar with. It is worth mentioning that the Galaxy S21 FE only comes with a 12 MP shooter.
