Some beta testers of the app can already access the enhancement.

As of writing, WhatsApp already has a text editing feature. However, reports said that the new functionality is a better creative tool.

Ever since Meta acquired WhatsApp, the tech firm gradually improved the messaging app by developing features inspired by Facebook and Instagram.

Unlike the existing version, the one being tested includes at least seven different fonts; Courier Prime, Damion, Exo 2, Morning Breeze, Calistoga, etc.

Just like on Instagram, these font options will appear above your smartphone's keyboard.

But, the best enhancement of the new WhatsApp text editing tool is its ability to adjust the background color of the text.

Aside from this, the WhatsApp feature will also have a word processor-like text alignment, allowing users to ensure that their texts are centered, as well as aligned to the left or right.

WhatsApp Text Editor's Other Details

WABetaInfo provided other major details about the new WhatsApp text editor feature.

The source stated that it is accessible via the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.7.17.
As of press time, the in-app enhancement is still being rolled out by Meta to more WhatsApp beta testers.

Aside from images, the text editor also works with GIFs and videos. Meta hasn't shared any statement regarding the feature's official launch date.

Since it is still not widely available to beta testers, the enhancement could take months to finish.
