Meta has finally launched new updates for WhatsApp on Windows. According to the social media company, the messaging platform now features improved calling for desktop users, particularly for group video and audio calls.
WhatsApp Newly-Improved Voice and Video Calling Support
The latest blog from Meta says that the new WhatsApp app for Window is now made faster with the latest update.
With the roll-out of the new changes this week, you can now host a group video call with your friends that can allow up to eight users inside a room.
For voice calls, WhatsApp can now accommodate maximum number of participants (up to 32 people). With that being said, you can now keep in touch with more people in a virtual setup. It's now easier to discuss stories and initiate conversations with your family, closest friends, and co-workers.
WhatsApp Delivers Under-the-Hood Design Enhancements
The video and audio call support is not the only highlight of the latest WhatsApp update on desktop. According to XDA Developers, before the update arrived, the platform had already launched a revamped design for its interface.
We could recall that previously, WhatsApp introduced multi-device functionality which allows users to access the app on different devices. Aside from that, the Windows Ink support is also present for those who want to send illustrations to their friends.

WhatsApp Brings New WhatsApp Beta For Android and Mac
Mac users can now take advantage of WhatsApp with the release of the beta version. Likewise, Android users can now start testing the app on their tablet so they could experience a special vibe in using the messaging tool.
Meanwhile, Mashable notes that the official WhatsApp account of the app has been launched for both iPhone and Android. At the time, it's only available for select early testers.
You cannot easily search for WhatsApp in its native app. If you try to enable the chat manually, it won't work either since there's no existing support for that yet.
What we know so far is that the chat account in WhatsApp shares similarities with Telegram and Viber. The good news about Meta's app is that you can archive an account if you want to no longer receive chats from other people.
Earlier this year, WhatsApp also launched a new feature that can bypass internet censors via proxy server, according to Tech Times.
According to Meta, you can do this by privately sharing the proxy server address with those people who cannot link up to the chatting app.
You can start by setting up a server with either 5222, 443, or 80 as their ports. Make sure that the domain name points to the IP address of the connected server.
In doing so, Meta says that the user's proxy server privacy is secure and protected from unwanted attempts of hacking.
