The Tesla Model S and Model X electric vehicles (EVs) are now finally accepting orders in South Korea.
So if you are from the country that brought K-Pop and Kdramas to the world, you may now buy these all-electric Tesla vehicles.
The EV maker also disclosed the pricing of these EVs, but more on that later.
Tesla Model S, X EV Arrives in South Korea
As per Tesla North, the Elon Musk-led EV maker is now offering its Tesla Model S and Model X in South Korea.
The carmaker has finally opened orders for these vehicles in the country. The recent move is part of the endeavor of the tech giant to further expand its global presence besides the United States (US).
Although South Koreans can already buy a Model 3 EV, it is until now that they can place orders for the Model S and Model X.
The carmaker brought the Plaid and Long Range variants of the said EVs. So consumers in the country could choose whether they want the fast-performing option or the cheaper counterpart that boosts its battery range.
How Much Are Tesla Model S and Model X Priced in Korea?
The giant EV maker revealed the pricing of the Tesla Model S and Model X in South Korea.
The Model S starts at a price tag of KRW 123 million or roughly $94,000, whereas the Model S Plaid costs KWR 137 million, which is around $150,000.
On the other hand, the Model X sells to the tune of KRW 139 million or more than $107,000. The Plaid variant costs over 153 million KRW ($117,800).
However, it should be noted that the final pricing of these EVs may vary depending on the additional options and configurations of its customers.
Tesla Model 3 Price Cut in Korea
Apart from the Model S and Model X, Tesla currently offers the Model 3 sedan to its customers in South Korea.
In fact, according to Reuters, the Musk-led carmaker recently dropped the price tag of the Model 3 last February. The recent price cut reportedly follows the lowering of its cost last January. So for two months, the American automaker made the said EV cheaper in the Asian country.
It now only costs roughly KWR 59.9 million or around $48,000. Its current pricing is 5 percent cheaper than its price tag last January. Previously, Tesla buyers used to have to pay for KWR 94.73 million before they could get their hands on it.
Meanwhile, the potential new Gigafactory location of Tesla might be in South Korea.
