Apple will surprise the iPhone and iPad fans with the "most requested features" that they are going to see for iOs 17.
Bloomberg tech writer Mark Gurman says that the update will take effect later as part of the new strategy by the Cupertino firm.
Most Requested Features For iOS 17
Earlier this year, Gurman claimed that the iPhone maker will tweak its strategy that will focus on bringing several features for the upcoming operating system, per Macrumors.
Back then, the reporter said that the company might introduce a special feature for the mixed-reality headset which was a subject of rumors.
"When Apple set out to develop iOS 17, the initial thinking was to call it a tuneup release - one focused more on fixing bugs and improving performance than adding new features (not unlike the approach the company took with Snow Leopard on Mac OS X back in 2009)," Gurman wrote in his "Power On" newsletter.
The reliable source added that Apple is doing this to avoid issues that it encountered on iOS 16. From the get-go, many users noticed a lot of bugs brought by missed deadlines of the update.
As part of its new strategy to wow the users, the iOS 17 is expected to roll out the "nice to have" features although it still falls short when it comes to "tentpole" development. The report adds that the new iOS software has a codename "Dawn."
iOS 17 Release Date
9to5Mac reports that Apple is gearing up to unveil the new iOS 17 features for the upcoming WWDC Worldwide Developers Conference) in June. The company is expected to disclose more information about this operating system for the next-gen smartphones.
Having said that, we could potentially have a myriad of interesting features here, including the sideloading support for App Store apps, CarPlay enhancement, and Siri improvements.
xROS Development For Apple's AR/VR Headset
Since the competition in the field of VR headsets is getting tougher, companies have to think of an exciting gimmick that can entice the users to purchase a worthy wearable product.
As such, Tech Times wrote in its January report that the iPhone maker might ditch getting upgrades for iOS 17 so it could focus on the development of xrOS for its rumored AR/VR headset.
At the same time, the company will allegedly halt all ongoing improvements for macOS 14 and iPadOS17 to pave the way for another technological product.
If that is true, Apple might have resumed its AR-centered testing which began in 2020. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic happened, it impacted all the existing operations, pushing the companies to limit their capabilities.
Originally, Apple wanted to release the AR/VR wearable in 2020, but it was pushed to 2021. Unfortunately, it was moved again in 2022.
