For the past years, iPhone and Android have been compared by many critics in various fields.

These include features, designs, and prices. But, there are other individuals who actually compare the users instead of their devices.

This is what a new survey did. Instead of focusing on smartphones, American Trucks decided to study drivers who own iPhone and Android devices.

Here's what a U.S.-based online aftermarket retailer revealed.

New Survey Shows iPhone Users More Vulnerable to Road Accidents

According to Gizchina's latest report, the American Trucks survey's results showed slight differences between Android and iPhone users when it comes to driving habits.

Although this is the case, it was revealed that iPhone users are still more prone to road accidents and are often the ones receiving ticket violations:

Accidents

  • Apple users have been in nearly 20% more at-fault accidents than Android.
  • Android users were 15% more likely than Apple users to have been in an accident caused by distracted driving.

Ticket Violation

  • On average, nearly 10% more Apple users than Android users have received 5 or more tickets in their lifetime.

One of the reasons why iPhone owners are involved in car accidents and receive more violation tickets is because they are the ones often distracted by their smartphones.

American Trucks' survey showed that 57% of their participants who are texting while driving own iPhones. On the other hand, 55% of them have Android smartphones.

iPhone Users Admit Experiencing Road Rage More

American Trucks said that 54% of iPhone users admitted that they experience road rage often. Meanwhile, only 51% on the Android side said that they experience aggressive drivers.

When it comes to expressing road rage, iPhone owners are less likely to be aggressive. Here are the exact results provided by American Trucks:

Road Rage

  • Competitive: 53% iPhone users, 60% Android owners.
  • Impatient: 62% iPhone users, 54% Android owners.
  • Passive Aggressive: 48% iPhone users, 45% Android owners.
  • Verbal: 29% iPhone users, 34% Android owners.
  • Violent: 7% iPhone users, 14% Android owners.
