Apple iPhone 15 Pro is expected to debut later this year. But as early as now, leaks are suggesting which design changes are coming to the upcoming high-end flagship phone.
New leaked CAD images hint that it is getting a more seamless design as it attempts to combine the mute and volume buttons of the device.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Leaked Images
As per a report by Mac Rumors, Apple seems to be working on a new design for the buttons of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro. The next-generation flagship might introduce a new design element that departs from the traditional look that its predecessors sported.
New leaked images of the high-end next-gen iPhone showcase a new volume and mute button look. Contrary to the current layout of the mute and volume options on the iPhone, the CAD renders of the iPhone 15 Pro feature a unified version, which combines the two.
Unified Volume and Mute Buttons
The CAD image of the Apple device shows a single button for the volume rocker.
Previous versions of iPhones sported two buttons for the up and down option to adjust the volume of their devices. But this time, it looks like the two separate buttons have been combined into a single long button.
On the other hand, the mute option is likely turning into a button as well, ditching the switch that allows users to turn on and off the silent mode.
Solid State Design
Apple Insider notes in its report that previous rumors point out that the iPhone 15 Pro is replacing its physical buttons with solid-state counterparts. With that, the buttons would no longer physically move. Instead, they would provide haptic feedback to mimic the movement.
It is worth noting that the renowned tech giant previously did this shift back when iPhones still had a home button. And currently, Apple applies the same haptic technology for the trackpad of its newer MacBooks.
And now, the latest leak of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro hints that the Cupertino giant is likely bringing haptic feedback to its volume button.

How About the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus
It looks like the button design change is only limited to the higher-end iPhone lineup. The much cheaper iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus are likely to keep the more traditional look, including the two volume buttons and the mute switch.
However, it seems that Apple might bring the Dynamic Island feature to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, alongside the iPhone 15 Pro lineup.
