With ChatGPT's popularity on the internet, browser makers have to adapt to the trend. Opera, being one of the most used browsers at present, is also seemingly hooked up with generative AI.
Opera desktop users can soon launch AI prompts, according to the latest report. The browser has a sidebar feature, as well where users can access ChatSonic and of course, ChatGPT.
Opera Brings New AI-Centered Features
According to a report by 9to5Mac, Opera says that it's bringing game-changing news for every browser user thanks to the launch of AI-powered tools on the platforms.
As such, the Opera Browser unveils a new set of features that will take your browsing experience to a new level.
The company says that the sidebar access and the AI prompts won't be just transformative to the future of the web, but they will also grant users "superpowers" in browsing.
What are these AI prompts?
In the same report, 9to5Mac lists down the AI prompts that have recently arrived in the Opera desktop browser. These are:
- Explore
- Explain briefly
- Explain this article
- ELI5 (explain like I'm 5)
- Shorten
- Show me more relevant content
- Create a tweet
- Tweet this website like...
- What's the main point
- Write a haiku
- Make a joke
Speaking of Shorten, Deccan Herald reported that last month, Opera confirmed that it would offer the Shorten Tab for PC and mobile users.

Opera Sidebar Early Access
The early access sidebar will let the users gain access to the ChatGPT and ChatSonic web versions. You can do a lot of things here including answering your math assignment, coding, and learning an instrument.
According to the company, ChatSonic can be your lifeline in making the pictures you need for your project or proposal. It's specifically tailored to bring service to your needs.
"Do note that in order to use the AIGC tools in the sidebar, you'll have to create accounts with the respective services or log in with your existing account, if you already have one," Opera adds.
Right now, Windows, Mac, and Linux users can use these AI features in "early access" on their Opera browsers.
Meanwhile, Opera GX will allow you to activate the "Early bird" option that you can find right away by diving into the browser settings.
Back on February 9, Opera announced that it would integrate ChatGPT-like technology on its web browser. At that time, we already know what's coming to the browser including AI commands and chatbots.
Aside from Opera, Mozilla also joined the AI hype by launching its AI venture. It's not only a simple startup since it's focused on bringing "trustworthy" AI technology to the public.
