The electric garbage truck is the first fully electric heavy-duty truck that marks a significant milestone for transportation sustainability across the country. Indeed, Volvo Trucks is leading the way toward a cleaner future with its lineup of zero-emission heavy-duty electric vehicles.

Volvo Trucks released its first electric commercial truck in 2019 and then followed it up with the Volvo VNR Electric, which featured a larger battery for an extended range.

In September 2022, Volvo added three massive 44-ton heavy-duty EV trucks that brought its lineup to six, which is the most extensive in the industry.

They continue to help many companies go electric and promote a zero-emission global transportation industry across the world.

Also recently, Volvo delivered an electric truck in Morocco. Based on a press release, the global car manufacturer states that it delivered a series-produced zero-exhaust emission garbage truck to the city of Rabat in Morocco.

The electric truck is part of Volvo's commitment to offering zero-emission commercial vehicles to its customers. The truck is equipped with a battery-electric drive system and has a range of up to 200 kilometers on a single charge.

With its commitment to providing zero-emission commercial vehicles, Volvo is helping the world move towards a more sustainable future.

Electric Trucks Today

Electric trucks have become more powerful, efficient and reliable in the past few years. There are now electric trucks that can run up to 300 miles on a single charge and can even haul up to 80,000 lbs. Also, with the introduction of advanced battery technology, electric trucks can now recharge faster than ever and can even be equipped with solar panels to increase their range.

Electric trucks can also be used in a variety of applications, from commercial or industrial delivery to construction work. In addition, many companies are taking advantage of electric truck technology to reduce their carbon footprint and improve their overall eco-friendliness.

Electric trucks are also becoming increasingly affordable, with many companies offering attractive leasing and financing options. This makes them an attractive option for businesses on a budget.

The future of electric trucks looks very bright, and more companies are beginning to invest in this technology. As electric trucks become more efficient and better at handling heavy loads, they will become more widely adopted. This is great news for the environment and for the people who rely on trucks for their livelihood.

Moreover, with improved battery tech and range capabilities, electric truck drivers may no longer be limited to short routes or have to worry about running out of power during long hauls - allowing them to complete deliveries faster and more reliably than ever before. This could dramatically improve efficiency levels across multiple industries while significantly cutting down on transport costs at the same time.
