The famous media streaming app is expanding its gaming experience to a wider platform, with Netflix confirming that it will soon bring a cloud gaming feature for all devices with the app available. This would differ from the previous Netflix Games, which mostly featured arcade titles and require users to download the app before playing.
Now that it has invested in Netflix Cloud Gaming, the streaming experience would expand to a better reach as it would no longer be exclusive to mobile devices only, also coming to the web and television.
Netflix Cloud Gaming is Coming Soon, Company Confirms
Leane Loombe, Netflix's vice president of External Games, confirmed this venture in an interview with TechCrunch, reassessing their plans and venture that would come soon for the world. The executive claims that this new cloud gaming development is meant to bring its gaming experience to more devices and not only exclusive to mobile.
Loombe also said that the company is "early" in developing its game streaming experience, even in its smartphone delivery of these titles.
This re-confirmation of the Netflix Cloud Gaming experience shows that the company is committed to extending its features and platform to more than media streaming and having games available anytime or place.
The Streaming Giant is Bringing Games to All Devices
As 9to5 Google notes, Netflix confirmed its cloud gaming capabilities to the world soon, as shared last October 2022 by another platform executive. This new cloud gaming experience would bring all of the company's games into its library, available on all devices, and not only for mobile.
It would be similar to what Xbox Cloud Gaming, Google Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now, Amazon Luna offer.
With Netflix's Cloud Gaming, users no longer have to download these games to access them via the app.
Netflix's Gaming Experience on the App
When Netflix first announced its gaming venture to the world, there was a mixed perception about it, with some wanting the company to focus on its movies and series streaming part and some supporting them. However, the streaming giant was intent on delivering a gaming experience on the app that would diversify the company's offers to the public.
The company's rollout of its Netflix Games division first started in Poland, and the country could see what the streaming platform's latest feature prepared for the world. It was then made known that it centers on a downloadable game meant for mobile devices, first available on Android and then for iOS, which made its initially available games like the "Stranger Things" arcade series and more.
The streaming giant got enough downloadable games on the mobile and is looking to expand to a larger experience, as the company confirms the Cloud Gaming experience is coming soon. It would center on all devices where the app is available or accessible via the web browser, like on PCs, to no longer have downloaded before accessing its games.
