Microsoft's new AI-powered clinical notes application has been unveiled.
This new technology, which relies on OpenAI's GPT-4, is expected to benefit healthcare workers.
On Monday, Mar. 20, Microsoft and its subsidiary, Nuance Communications, announced the new Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) Express.
DAX Express is designed to help healthcare providers avoid burnout and improve care delivery.

It is also powered by OpenAI's GPT-4 and amplified by Microsoft Azure.
Diana Nole, Nuance Communications' Healthcare Division Executive VP, explained that the new clinical notes app could help physicians enjoy medicine again, allowing them to serve their patients better.
"Our ultimate goal is to reduce this cognitive burden, to reduce the amount of time that they actually have to spend on these administrative tasks," said the official.
How DAX Express Works
Nuance Communications' official website explained that the new DAX Express automatically records patient encounters in a very accurate way.
It can do this efficiently and consistently in telehealth and in-office settings.
With DAX Express, healthcare providers can focus more on their patients since they no longer need to spend too much time taking clinical notes.
Since DAX Express can generate accurate clinical notes within seconds, physicians will be able to review its automated summaries immediately.
As of writing, Nuance is still preparing DAX Express for its initial availability in a private capacity this coming summer.
The company said it would take time before DAX Express is widely available.
