Just after the game's latest update, version 1.19.70, Minecraft players on the Nintendo Switch reported a loading screen bug.
Players reportedly have been frustrated by this bug since they can no longer load the game after updating.
NintendoLife tells us that a user who sent emails to gaming websites alerted the community to the problem, which was then addressed on the Minecraft subreddit.
Minecraft is yet to release a fix.
Minecraft Loading Screen Stuck at 66%
After the game's update, several players report that they are unable to load Minecraft on the Switch. The loading wheel keeps spinning, but the loading screen gets stuck at 66% and stays there indefinitely.
Players have posted images of the bug to Mojang's website, and a ticket has been submitted in the hopes of finding a fix.
This is not the first time bugs have beset the sandbox game. In 2021, a vulnerability posed a significant threat to Java versions of Minecraft, allowing malicious code to be executed on servers and end-user devices playing the popular game.
Mojang has also been regularly patching the game to fix bugs. The game's developer is also encouraging players to find and report bugs in the game. Players can access Mojang's bug tracker tool here.
Players Found a Quick Fix
Some users say a simple process can let anyone get back into the game.
Several gamers could work around the issue by logging out of the game, placing the Switch in airplane mode, restarting the console, and booting Minecraft while remaining in airplane mode. Unfortunately, not all players have had success with this approach.
Although the glitch is prominent on the Switch, identical issues have been reported by players on the Xbox console.

Latest from Minecraft

But there's more. The update also improves player emotes and addresses several issues and crashes that players may have noticed during gameplay.
The update to horse breeding is among the most significant additions to the game. Players can now breed horses to create faster and stronger ones to help them travel the Minecraft landscape.
In addition to these changes, the update also addresses over thirty community-reported bugs. This implies that players can enjoy a more stable and seamless gameplay experience.
