LinkedIn Brings Ai-powered Writing Suggestions, Job Descriptions

LinkedIn plans to add more AI-centered features soon.

Business-focused social platform LinkedIn has finally brought generative AI to the site. With the launch of AI-written suggestions and job descriptions, it's now easier to optimize your job profile than before.

If you're a struggling job-seeker who finds updating your profile a tedious task, worry not since the latest AI-centered feature will make it more convenient for you.

As a matter of fact, LinkedIn has been using AI for many years, but it's only used for network operation and building.

According to Engadget, the company has recently added an AI-powered update for its front end which is designed for LinkedIn Learning, profiles, and recruitment.

With AI-powered writing suggestions, the daunting activity of updating your profile has now come to an end. This will hugely help you to clean the mess in your site and to attract more potential clients/employers in the long run.

As for the recruiters, the feature will be useful in writing updated job descriptions for the vacant positions in the company.

LinkedIn Premium Users Will Get the Most Out of it

LinkedIn's chief product officer Tomer Cohen says that the platform uses GPT models for these AI-focused features.

For instance, the platform utilizes GTP-3.5 for job descriptions while for personalized profiles, GTP-4 is used.

The company also wants to improve and extend the LinkedIn Learning service to give away hundreds of courses online to students and professionals.

Of course, there's a reason why these AI features are selective. According to TechCrunch, it's only available to Premium subscribers for now. There's no need to think over what you will write on the headline and "about" sections of your profile because the AI will do the job for you.

"Our tool identifies the most important skills and experiences to highlight in your About and Headline sections, and crafts suggestions to make your profile stand out," LinkedIn writes.

The Sunnyvale-based firm adds that the tool will save you from wasting your time and energy in coming up with an enticing profile description.

What's more, the AI feature won't just produce results you don't like. You have the time to review and edit them and tailor them to your style before it appears on your profile.

For recruiters who regularly replace the job descriptions, it will also auto-generate a fitting job description that you can revise later. You don't have to individually customize each of them so you can dedicate more time to strategizing your plans for your next tasks.

Beware of LinkedIn Scams

With generative AI taking over the internet by storm, it's reasonable why many people love to start getting used to it.

While it's very easy to use on LinkedIn, you should still be careful who you talk to on the platform. Wired reports that fake profiles are all over the place and they only exist to steal information from you.
