Vietnamese Website Teases Early Images of Google Pixel 7a Ahead of Launch

This is not the first time that someone leaked a Google phone ahead of its release.

Before Google reveals some information about the upcoming Pixel 7a, a Vietnamese website has already shared the early images of the unannounced product.

Zing News, an online magazine based in Vietnam has learned that someone has obtained the prototype unit of the unreleased smartphone.

According to The Verge, the mid-range Google Pixel 7a has not yet hit global stores, yet it's already existing somewhere in Vietnam.

Zing News managed to obtain some details about its look before Google remotely locked it. At first, the company's programmers tested it out to see if its features still need more than tweaking.

The owner says that the prototype has 8GB RAM and 128GB of memory which matches the previous leak about the alleged model earlier this year.

Aside from that, the Google Pixel 7a is reportedly operating Android 13.

The next budget-friendly handset also features a durable finish thanks to the metal. The Pixel 7 only made use of polished aluminum whereas the Pixel 6a relied on a glass bar.

Aside from that, the owner of the Pixel 7a prototype claims that it has a pair of 12 MP cameras which we have previously seen on Pixel 6a. The 50 MP main camera is also non-existent here.

Google Pixel 7a Running at 90Hz Refresh Rate

Back in January 2023, Tech Times reported that there's a circulating clip about Google Pixel 7a which suggests that it will come with 90Hz refresh rate. It turns out that this might be true as confirmed by the prototype owner.

It's quite intriguing to think how on earth did the owner do to obtain it. Other features that are mentioned in the report include a single SIM slot, IP67 water and dust resistance, and more.

At this point, Google remains tight-lipped if the dedicated slot is for the eSIM. Additionally, you can't see a 3.5mm audio jack anywhere.

If it's true that users can have the option to refresh the display at 90Hz, this might be one of Google's biggest upgrades for its mid-range handsets.

If you want to avoid getting locked with your smartphone, do not EVER post the screenshots of your phone's unique serial number. Google decided to lock the device after the leaked pictures made rounds online across various platforms.

There's so much to hear about Google Pixel 7a, but it's still too early to say that we will hear something this month. If that's the case, we might discover interesting details about it when the Google I/O developer conference takes place on May 10.

Meanwhile, NotebookCheck reveals that a new Google Pixel Feature Drop has arrived to Pixel 7, Pixel 6, Pixel 5, and Pixel 4 lineup. The update will focus on improving the user experience and optimization of device functionality.
