"Angry Birds" classic version app is set to leave the Google Play Store as it will be delisted from the app marketplace for Android phone users this February.
On the other hand, the original "Angry Birds" game on Apple App Store for iPhone users is also facing a massive change.
'Angry Birds' Classic To Be Delisted from Google Play Store
As per a report by The Verge, the "Rovio Classics: Angry Birds," which brings the original version of the hit game," is bidding farewell to the app store of Google.
The developer of the "Angry Birds" rebuild, Rovio, announced that it will be delisted from the Android app marketplace this month.
So if you have yet to get your hands on the classic "Angry Birds" game on your Android phone, you might want to hurry up. You only have a couple of hours to do so, as its farewell on the Google app marketplace is somewhat abrupt.
The gaming firm confirmed that the "Rovio Classics: Angry Birds" will be unlisted from the Google Play Store on Thursday, February 23.
However, Rovio assures that folks who have downloaded the classic version of the game could continue playing it even as it leaves the app marketplace.
The announcement notes that "Rovio Classics: Angry Birds will remain playable on devices on which the game has been downloaded, even after it has been unlisted."
With that, Android phone users would have to download the classical rebuild of the hit gaming title to continue experiencing it. Or they may still do so by using an iPhone.
How About on the Apple App Store?
GSM Arena notes in its report that the classic version of "Angry Birds" will still be available on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad users.
However, Rovio says it would name it "Red's First Flight," but it is still pending review at the iPhone app marketplace.
Given that, iPhone users might have a hard time searching for the classical version. Some might simply look for "Angry Birds."
The Verge says that it is unclear why Rovio did not pursue the same route for Google Play. The gaming firm could change its name on the Android app marketplace, as well.
Instead, Rovio explains that they have decided to delist the game on Google Play due to the "impact on [their] wide games portfolio." The move should help its other gaming titles, such as "Angry Bird 2" and "Angry Birds Friends," to name a few.
Meanwhile, both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store are reportedly flooded by Pig-Butchering scam apps.
