'Angry Birds Classic' Returns to App Store with No in-App Purchases and a New Engine

For a certain period of time in the past, a lot of smartphone users were playing "Angry Birds" and now, the game is coming back with no in-app purchases and a new engine.

'Angry Bids' is Coming Back to the App Store

According to the story by 9to5Mac, "Angry Birds" is described as "one of the most popular mobile games of all time" with multiple versions of the original games released ever since its initial launch back in 2009.

The company behind the game itself, Rovio, is going to bring the beloved original "Angry Birds" game back online on the App Store. The game will no longer have in-app purchases but will along with a new engine.

Rovio Aims to Bring Back the Original Game

Rovio released a announcement, saying that the game has been completely rebuilt with the use of the Unity engine. This upgrade was done in order for the game to provide a more sustainable experience throughout different platforms and devices.

The company, however, assures the public and fans of the game that they have been able to keep every aspect of the original game despite "Angry Birds" re-releasing. As per the company, while they were focused on rebuilding the classic "Angry Birds," they made sure to preserve the original feeling of the game itself.

Original Game Released on the Apple App Store in 2012

Sami Ronkainen, the executive producer of the game, said that they know that their fans will notice the small differences. This meant that the company had to make sure that the gameplay and the appearance they released in the original game remains the same with the re-release.

The brand new remaster, which is based on the original game, was made available in 2012 on the Apple App Store before it was then discontinued. Back in 2019, Rogio had to pull back the original "Angry Birds" game due to it being incompatible with newer devices.

'Angry Birds' to Return to the Game's Original Business Model Without Ads and In-App Purchases

One interesting thing, as noted by 9to5Mac, is that the new release would make the game unlike any other "Angry Birds" games that was released. This is due to the company deciding to return to its original roots especially when it comes to the game's original business model.

Instead of releasing a free game that comes with paid content wherein users have to make extra purchases, the new "Angry Birds Classic" will be getting rid of in-app purchases or any other advertisements making it function like it used to.
